D.J. and Sarah Morgan: Camp Classen Legacy D.J. Morgan’s connection to the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City’s Camp Classen started in 1986 when he was just eight years old. Nestled in the Arbuckle Mountains in southern Oklahoma, the 2,100-acre site features two lakes, horseback and hiking trails and other amenities and has long been a favorite YMCA program. D.J. returned to the camp for the next 18 years as a camper then as a counselor. He would eventually be hired to serve as the year-round director. It was while he was serving as director that he proposed to Sarah at the camp’s popular Three Falls location. The newlyweds’ first home was at Camp Classen. In 2011, the Morgans established an advised fund at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. Through the fund, the couple recommends grants to charitable organizations and programs such as Camp Classen. “The Oklahoma City Community Foundation provides a place to match our giving with great community organizations such as Camp Classen,” says D.J. “It really is a convenient and efficient way for us to give back,” adds Sarah.
