Disruption, ConnectivityAnd Speed: Are You Ready?Overview

In the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world today, how do we ensure that our purpose-driven organizations are sustainable and able to develop their full potential, while embracing new technologies, organizational structures and business models?

Much of this comes down to ensuring that companies have inspirational, authentic leaders and are supported by people who collaborate together effectively and find real meaning in their work. Clearly, organizations that attract younger generations, and entrepreneurs will be agile enough to adapt as conditions change. These are the ones that will succeed.

How do we manage this paradigm shift and tackle all of these new challenges?

If you are looking for an event where you simply sit and listen to lectures from experts on how to stay ahead of the competition and meet current business challenges, this programme is not for you!

On the other hand, if you are concerned about the future of your organization and wish to actively participate in a debate with keynote business leaders and make a contribution to the shape of future organizations and talent capital, then this is an unmissable event for you and your organization.

More than 20 high profile speakers will be present, including Jan Mühlfeit, ex-Chairman Microsoft Europe, some partners, like CRF, and a terrific line-up of commentators at this exclusive MCE event.

Those present at this highly experiential event will embark on a two-day journey full of insight and debate on the issues shaping the business world of tomorrow.

Why you should be there

ThriveAbility – Designing a Multi- Capital Operating System for a RegenerativeInclusive Economy.Ralph Thurm, Co- Founder of the ThriveAbility Foundation

Most well informed people are aware at some level that our current model of capitalism is no longer fit for purpose. Despite the recent achievement of COP21 to get 190 nations to agree to limit global warming to 2 degrees, the role of thriving ecosystems in successful businesses, NGO’s and organizations is poorly understood and applied in making the critical decisions we use to allocate our precious resources. The new discipline of ThriveAbility is aimed at changing that. It does this by re-designing our socio-technical and managerial systems.

Authentic / Inspirational Leadership (15 minutes each)

Along the way, she shares learnings from conversations with over 60 corporate directors across Europe, including 25 chairmen.

Oonagh will then lead a discussion exploring the challenges and opportunities for purpose-driven businesses. She is currently facilitating two parallel shared learning groups for Blueprint for Better Business putting purpose into business and willshare on an anonymous basis what the groupshave learned.

Leadership in an Age of ConvergenceDr. Jens Maier, Lecturer at Universität St Gallen and Founder of CE Convergence Engineers.

Convergence between markets and technologiesis happening around us. The perfect storm of ubiquitous technologies, such as smartphones, cloud computing, big data, social media and the Internet of Everything, often characterized as ‘digitization’ is, by itself, challenging enough. But, when coupled with a mega-trend such as aging populations, the implications are felt across most industries.

Leaders have to steer their organizations through this unchartered territory; defensively, protecting the business against new intruders and proactively exploring new opportunities provided through converging technologies and markets.

This presentation will address the challenges on how leaders can balance the different demands of both defensively protecting the existing business while pro-actively shaping the opportunities presented through convergence.
