When I was four years old, my grandfather and I were walking in a park in Japan when he suddenly got lost. It was one of the scariest moments I've ever experienced in my life, and it was also the first instance that informed us that my grandfather had Alzheimer's disease.

My research experience really implanted in me a firm desire to use sensors to help the elderly people. I really believe that sensors can improve the quality of life of the elderly.

HBB establishes hospitals and clinics run by local communities as social health enterprises. HBB’s social business model repurposes profits earned from standard delivery fees for every 3 babies to subsidise 1 child delivery for an underprivileged patient.

Skin-Based Battery for Medical Devices and WearablesNUS researchers developed an electrode used to harvest the current caused by friction on the skin and clothes. This could potentially be used to power wearable sensors which can be used to track the user’s motion, activity, health etc.

A new report from the Economist Intelligence Unit suggests that healthcare systems in the Asia-Pacific region need to shift to patient-centric care.

HOW TO INTEGRATE IMPACTInterOil, YWAM, Overcoming the Impossible

InterOil supports YWAM Medical Ships (YWAM), an NGO from Australia, to overcome severe health challenges and impact local communities in PNG through the use of a Training and Medical Ship with medical specialists, supplies, health services and mentoring, and support for rural health workers.

Gone Adventurin’ worked with InterOil and YWAM to create a 1 week Impact Adventure to benefit 5 rural communities, engage a team of their employees with first hand experience on the YWAM ship, create an inspiring documentary of the journey, and help raise over S$6 million for YWAM to purchase a new medical ship.

Our work enabled InterOil to integrate their higher purpose of contributing to healthcare development into their business, transformed InterOil's ability to inspire employees, built their brand through engaging content and increased the impact of YWAM by 500% - impacting 100,000 additional lives per year.
