STUDY HALL, GUIDED STUDY, and LOUNGE• When students have a free period, they are assigned to lounge (in Commons) where they are free to work alone, work with others, or go to the library. Students who are on deficiency or fail-ing a class are assigned to quiet study hall. Students who request guided study receive academic assistance.

ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE OF ATHLETICS AND FINE ARTS• Nearly 50 additional activities are available, including academic clubs, service organizations, faith activities, student government, and game clubs.• Over 90% of our student body is involved in extracurricular activities.

SAINTS SHOP• Open during the school day. Xavier apparel is available during this time and at selected athletic events.

HEALTH CENTER• Staffed by registered nurse

DRESS CODE• Philosophy of “business casual.” Details in handbook (available on website)

CLASS PERIODS• Class periods last 43 minutes

O P E N C A M P U S ?No, students have 20 minutes and are required to eat lunch in the Xavier cafeteria. Hot lunch costs $2.00 and ala carte items are avail-able and individually priced.

W H AT I S T H E D I F F E R E N C E B E T W E E N A . P. C R E D I T V E R S U S D U A L C R E D I T ?• A.P. credit is equal to a first-year college level course. Special permis-sion is required to enroll. Successful completion of the A.P. National Exam at the end of the course can result in the student receiving college credit at many colleges.

• In Dual Credit classes, students who earn a “C” or above receive college credit through St. Louis University. That credit may be trans-ferred to other colleges depending on their policies.
