Disc cultivator LEMKEN Rubin 9

In the cultivation of set-aside land, in lodged cereals orhigh-grown green manure crops conventional cultivatorsoften reach their limit. The LEMKEN Rubin 9 rotating disccultivator gives an intensive mixing of soil and plantmaterial, even under the most difficult conditions andalso where working depth is minimal – between 5 and 10 cm. Contrary to fixed cultivating elements, the Rubin 9’s rotating discs offer blockage-free work, evenwhere there are large amounts of organic material.

The conception

Two rows of indented concave discs Ø 610 mm, 6 mmthickness and 25 cm distance offer an intensive incorpo-ration of soil and plant material. The bite of the discs intothe soil through their 20° angled positioning with 15°cutting angle leads to very good incorporation resultseven with consolidated ground conditions.

The good incorporation results from a strong vertical soil movement. All discs are individually mounted onbearings for consistent depth maintenance.

The second row of discs is staggered behind the firstgiving a distance between cultivating points of 12.5 cm.This ensures a consistent and complete soil treatmentacross the working width. The additional outer discsprevent ridges forming between working passes.

The working method

Intensive incorporation, even without pto

The tensioned bearings of the concave discs are securedtightly to ensure there is no play. Maintenance time isreduced with the fitment of axial angular ball bearings.

The outer protection cap and seal arrangement protectsagainst dust and humidity. The special design of thebearing housing at the disc carrier serves as an additionalprotection.

Each disc is fixed at the frame with a leg and a tensilesuspension element, thus always allowing an optimalintensity of work even where difficulties such as stonescrop-up. Additionally tractor and implement are protec-ted.

Two rebound harrows, which can be adjusted in depthand inclination, are mounted behind the discs andcontrol the placement of the soil flow.

The disc gangs, with only 1.07 m between them, result in a short and compact design with advantageous centreof gravity. The open frame design with large clearancesguarantees blockage free operation even with highamounts of plant material.

The exact depth control is enabled by a variety offollowing rollers as option from the wide range available.Support wheels are not necessary.

LEMKEN Rubin and LEMKEN seed drilling

With working widths of 4, 5 and 6 meters the Rubin 9 canalso be delivered in semi-mounted form. This reducesload on the tractor and enables a safe transport withlarge working widths.

Combined with the LEMKEN Solitair 9 KA drill, the semi-mounted Rubin forms a powerful mulch seeding combi-nation.

Additionally the Rubin can be delivered with a hydrauliclift linkage for the alternative combination with otherseed drills or further implements.

The semi-mounted technique

Because the drill attachment points with all LEMKENsemi-mounted implements are the same, the Solitair 9 KApneumatic seed drill can be very simply combined withall of them. This means that a Solitair 9 KA seed drill issuitable for different methods of soil cultivation in combi-nation with a variety of machines without a loss of time.
