The company designs, manufactures and markets on-trend private label and branded fashion products for Women, Men, Teens, Tweens and Kids. Founded in 1990, Capelli New York is head quartered in New York and has offices and factories across the world. The company is fully vertically integrated and manages the full supply chain life-cycle starting from raw materials to finished products. Capelli New York is growing rapidly and is seeking an experienced Director of Training to assess, manage, create and oversee the company’s global training programs. Director of Training Reporting to the CIO, the Director of Training will be responsible for assessing the training needs of the Company in order to create a training department, training programs and training best practices. He/she will be responsible for identifying the resources and skills to work in this newly created department. These training programs are not limited to the IT department, but it extends to the various departments and their related business functions. We also need to develop a train-the-trainer programs to help build a team is ready to cover all aspects of the company’s training needs. The Director will be responsible for interviewing the various managers to identify their short and long term departments’ training needs. There are currently some training materials in the various departments that need to be revised and sometimes re-written to follow an agreed upon format and approach to training. The successful candidate will plan an integral role in the management and direction of global training solutions. This position will be located in either Secaucus New Jersey or New York City (USA). The ideal candidate is an accomplished Training director or manager with experience in large multi-national, multi-language organization. He/she should be a confident public speaker with excellent written and oral English presentation and writing skills. The Director should be able to explain, simplify and present complex and sometimes technical functions to staff and trainees. The candidate should have at minimum a Bachelor degree in education or Adult training. A Master degree is a plus. Experience in the Apparel and fashion industry will be definitely an asset. The Director should provide the CIO with daily reports about the activities of the Director and his/her department. He/she should conduct team meeting on regular basis and make sure that tasks and milestones are achieved on time and meet Capelli’s requirements and needs. Candidate Leadership Attributes: - Confident, self-starter, proactive – skilled in taking initiative, assessing requirements, coming up with plans and taking the lead in making plans reality. - A high level of energy with a results-driven attitude in a fast-paced environment. - Demonstrates a high degree of adaptability, comfortable in establishing new directions, managing rapid change and trying different approaches to deal with uncharted territories. - Possesses excellent interpersonal skills. Builds and maintains positive, productive relationships with peers, colleagues, operational managers, consultants, and suppliers. Responsibilities: − Draft an effective training strategy and develop the company training department. − Creation and development of all training materials including trainer guides, Training

video or audio, participant materials and evaluation systems − Facilitate the planning and delivery of programs and strategies jointly with local and

corporate stakeholders − Train the trainer and conduct various training classes for the various departments − Develops and manages a strong training team (i.e. hires, trains, appraises, rewards,

motivates, disciplines, etc.) ensuring that appropriate subject knowledge and skills are developed within each individual.

Candidate Qualifications: − Must have at least 5 years experience in designing and creating corporate training

programs preferably the Apparel and accessory business − Must have at least 5 years experience in conducting training to end users and

management preferably the Apparel and accessory business − Must have at least 5 years experience in managing functional and technical training

teams − Track record of creating corporate training programs and materials − Demonstrated experience in needs analysis and curriculum development − Must have an excellent understanding of ERP, Supply Chain, Accounting and Human

Resources − Training experience in Project Management Principles is a plus − Experience in manufacturing is an asset − Good knowledge of Information technology − Able to translate, articulate, simplify and communicate complex business and technical

functions to audiences with different level of expertise. − Able to maintains an effective organization structure that reflects Capelli’s needs for

corporate training − Excellent Management skills in a multi-location environment with an emphasis on people

skills and a "roll up your sleeves" management style − Superior organization skills is a must − Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high paced work environment − Able to thrive in an environment with regularly changing priorities − Ability to adapt and acquire new skills quickly − Excellent written and oral English communication skills including ability to plan and
