the 25th annual dinner on the desert committee
Dr. William Huizingh is a
man who cares about the
future—especially the future
of the Garden. Bill says
founder Gertrude Divine
Webster got it exactly right: “The Garden should
be a compelling attraction and a place where
people can come to study and learn about our
unique desert environment.” Throughout his
25 year involvement with the Garden, Bill’s
ðr. william huizinghHonorary Chair
values and actions have exemplified virtue,
dignity, responsibility, integrity, and thoughtful
planning for the future. Calling the Garden
his second home, he is a friend to staff, Trustees,
and volunteers often giving a pat on the back
for a job well done. He says passionately, “We’re
here to lift people up.” In recognition of his
generosity and commitment, the Garden’s
Board has named him Honorary Chair of
the 25th Annual Dinner on the Desert.
