Welcome to our Fourth Annual Bull Sale. At this time I would like to thank all the people that have expressed an interest in our program and the repeat customers over the years that have purchased bulls and heifers. It is definitely exciting times in the cattle business with the record prices for all classes of cattle. We look forward to providing you with your next herd sire to excel your breeding program forward and add those extra pounds to your calf crop. 2014 was a very busy year for us. We expanded the ranch and the family. Our first son Wyatt Mantei was born on July 28. I didn’t exactly plan it so well, being that he was born during haying season. We also expanded our land base and added another 115 commercial cows to the herd. This spring we will be calving 450 cows. There are 260 purebred papered Simmental cows. All of the cows are run in a competitive environment. The cows bale graze all winter long. They start calving in April and into May on stock piled grass. This type of management weeds out the weak and hard doing cattle, leaving us with a very productive and functional cow base from which to raise coming two-year-old bulls. I’m very proud of the pen of bulls on offer this year. In our AI program there will be four black bulls from the high selling bull Wheatland High Octane. There is a great set of black bulls from Remington Rangefinder, ACS Powerade, and (Mr. Consistent) Wheatland 453P. For bulls that will work in the heifer pen, check out the sire group from Wheatland Nitro. In the red bull category we have two completely new herd sire groups. IPU Red Chakota 18Y was the high selling bull in 2012 at Labatte’s sale and he has done a superb job. There are nine red or red white faced bulls for you to evaluate from him. The other red bulls are off of Tess Red 135Y, a blaze-faced red bull we bought from Tessier Simmentals. There are also some great red or black half cross bulls that will add that extra hybrid vigor to your calf crop. The 18 open heifers on offer are from the top end of the commercial herd. It is always hard to sell my crossbred females. These coming two year old bulls will benefit you, the customer, the most. These bulls are bigger, stouter, and will breed circles around any yearling bull. Simply put, these bulls will breed more cows easily, stay in great shape during breeding and will take care of themselves if put in multi-bull pastures. All of these herd sire prospects are virgin bulls, which will be semen tested and guaranteed. Here at Diamond M Ranch, we want to sell you a bull but, more importantly, we want to sell you the right bull. So please give us a call as we would be happy to help make the right selection for your herd. Then when you do find the right bull, you can rest assured that we will be there to back up that sale 100%. These twin brothers are sired by the high selling bull, Wheatland High Octane. 332A is a little bigger framed than 331A but both bulls are equally thick and stout. I can’t say enough about the dam 459P. She raised both of these bulls and did a hell of a job. She has been in our AI program a long time. Buy with confidence on these two bulls.

I don’t even know where to start with this guy. A true stand-out bull from birth. Super attractive, stout-made, and sound. He is one of the most complete bulls in this year’s offering and a popular favorite amongst visitors. Wheatland Nitro 64X was the high selling bull at $25,000 in 2011. We purchased him for his out cross pedigree on top and his elite dam Lady 351N on the bottom side. She is a beautifully-made female that has produced some of the most powerful herd sires in the Simmental industry. Nitro has been used in the heifer pen with great success. His daughters are very powerful and have excellent udders.

Wheatland Bull 453P was purchased in Vern & Denise’s first bull sale in 2004. He has positively influenced our herd over the years. The females are outstanding and are producing some of the top bulls in the sale now. 453P walked our pastures until age nine. We raised this half cross bull to use in our commercial female herd, with the idea to add just a little more high-bred vigor to the calf crop. The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made prior to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Bouchard Livestock Ltd reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should the purchaser fail to settle for his purchase, Bouchard Livestock Ltd reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage, either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale, together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. The owners, Bouchard Livestock Ltd. and sale staff have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment and/or who has not made prior credit arrangements prior to the sale with the owners and/or Sale Management.

BID - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISk - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.

ANNOUNCEMENTS from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

CERTIFICATE OF REgISTRY - The proper Registration of Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement has been made.

SHIPPINg - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale, but Sale Management or Seller assumes no risk. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instruction when making settlement.

gUARANTEE - All animals will carry standard breeding guarantee as specified by the applicable Canadian breed Association. At no time shall the seller’s liability exceed the purchased price of the animal.

EXCEPTION TO gUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. In the cases of bulls, they are guaranteed to breed naturally according to applicable Canadian breed Association guarantee, but no guarantee is given that semen from any bull will freeze.

HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Bouchard Livestock Ltd assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.

ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sale Management, auctioneer, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.
