INSTALLATIONWe install electronics from a single depth instrument to a full chartplotter with radar, autopilot AIS etc. We install electrical equipment from a single interior light to a anchor Windlass. No job is too small or too big.
MAINTENANCE, RE-WIRE, REPAIR, FAULTSWe can re-wire single circuits or provide a complete vessel re-wire. Many older boats benefit from a tidy up of DC circuits and maybe a new switch/fuse panel. Full circuit diagrams can also be provided if required. We offer fault diagnosis and remedial work on your vessel on water or on dry land. We can either repair faulty equipment ourselves or send it to the appropriate repair centre.
MOBILE & WORKSHOP FACILITIESWe are mobile and happy to operate anywhere in the Devon and west Dorset region. Based nearest to the River Exe we are mobile to boatyards, marinas and moorings or storage ashore. We can provide undercover workshop facilities.

The marine environment is very harsh for electrical and electronic systems and cabling. These very systems are becoming more complex and more critical to marine safety.
Instruments and chartplotters are relied upon for safe navigation, engine and bilge pump electrical components are vital for safe passage, VHF radios need to work when called upon for safety or emergency use and all this is underpinned by a well designed and maintained battery bank and charging system.
We offer a “Health Check” for your boats electrical and electronic systems using specialist test equipment. This includes:-

Devon Marine Electronics is a distributor for Fullriver range of professional AGM Batteries. It is a requirement that all batteries in accommodation areas on boats must be unvented (e.g. AGM batteries) unless fitted in a contained ventilated battery compartment. Fullriver is one of only a few manufacturers producing truly deep cycle AGM batteries. Used in aircraft, emergency vehicles and yachts. Fullriver AGM batteries are safe for use in human occupied compartments. They are built with aviation quality materiels and build standards and are highly resistant to vibrations. They have a longer life than conventional lead acid so are not expensive in the long run.

URGENT USE OF VHF
Distress CallOnly send a distress call if there is grave and imminent danger to a vessel or a life and immediate assistance is required. e.g. Man Over Board, Sinking, Fire on board, person gravely ill.1. Flip up red DISTRESS flap and hold button for 4 seconds 2. Select Ch 16 (press “16" button), in High power setting, take microphone and hold talk button and speak slowly and clearly.

boat name, call sign and MMSI
release talk button and wait for reply - repeat if no reply.
Urgency CallOnly send an urgency call if you have a very urgent situation concerning the safety of a vessel or person. e.g. Engine Failure or suspected heart attack. Select Ch 16 (press “16" button), in High power setting, take microphone and hold talk button and speak slowly and clearly as below:
