Ø Self paced course – best done in about an hour per week over 6 weeks
Ø Participate in active learning-view short video segments &, short narrated slide presentations, reflect on learnings and participate in online discussions with other course participants.
Ø Download any or all resources including scripted slide presentation for use with food bankers and community groups; short film on how the charitable food system works; guide to drafting a nutrition policy including model policies, guide to convening a working group and engaging stakeholders.
Ø Course content: Overview of food insecurity and health consequences; the importance of nutrition focused food banking; the foods to encourage, and the foods to reduce; key elements of a sound and useful nutrition policy; how to engage stakeholders in an effective working group to produce a policy that will be implemented.
