DESIGN BOOK

This season, Har lequin takes its inspiration from city architecture and the elegance of organic structures. A juxtaposition of natural and man-made forms influence the capti-vating designs in Momentum 07 Wallpapers, Momentum 13 Upholster y and Momentum 14 Drapes, new for SS21.

Set amongst a backdrop of bust l ing, gr id l ike streets, clean l ines and photo-graphic techniques introduce a softness to the col lect ion’s e ight wal lpaper s , nine drapes and five velvets. Captur ing the shapes and spaces found between l ight and dark, s i lhouetted f lorals and distor ted reflections differentiate against the angular ity of cityscapes within this latest launch.

Claire Greenfield, head of design for Har lequin says, “This exciting next chapter in the Momentum stor y represents a snapshot of urban l i fe . From dusk ti l l dawn, we’ve looked at positive and nega-tive spaces: transposing, refracting and shatter ing. We’ve taken close up elements from layered leaves and flowers to add a softer, painter ly aspect that contrasts against strong edges and contemporar y geometrics.

A broad and diver se collection, we’re blending the permanency of structures with the ever-changing beauty of nature.”

Key colours such as Tobacco, Rosewood, Saffron and Ink add a warmth to this collec-tion alongside Bronze, an exciting metallic addition that’s new for this season.

Iconic patterns including Aucuba’s display of abstract leaves, Distor tion’s modern ikat and Transver se ’s showstopping geometr ic share their unique glamour, in disper sed by shimmer ing highl ights across delicate threads. Sumptuous velvets feature throughout Momentum 13, adding an extra luxur ious touch to contract quality drapes and upholster y.

Completing this Momentum launch is Empower Plain, a durable cotton satin plain weave in 45 gorgeous jewel colours. Working perfect ly across the ent ire Momentum range, choose favour ite hues and co-ordinate to complete the look.
