Peer Support

Workshops

Look closely, you can see the peer support groups working collaboratively to spell Beyond Blue

Last Thursday students took part in

activities across the school to help

build self esteem, resilience and

teach strategies for relaxing when life

gets a little tough. Students also had

the opportunity to discuss how they

feel. Students enjoyed making stress

balls, planting seeds and making

playdough. As you can see below one

of the other favourite activities was

making the letters to spell beyond

blue. It was a fabulous afternoon for

students and we raised $220 to do-

nate to Beyond Blue.

Stinky Super Farts Super Powers

By Charli B and 3/4D boys.

Yesterday, I discovered my super

power when I farted and I nearly

killed everyone on the street. The

funny part was, that the people in my

house didn’t know.

My farts were pretty powerful. Later

that day, while I was collecting wood,

and putting it on the pile for a fire, I

farted and lit the wood pile up. We

had to call the fire brigade to put out

the fire as well as an ambulance to

treat the unconscious campers. When

the police arrived I farted again and flew

to Mount Everest and back.

This morning when I got up I put my toy

rocket up my bottom and blew the rock-

et to the moon and back. When the

rocket returned to Earth I found a piece

of alien poo! I took it to Space Station 3,

who opened up the rocket. The poo be-

gan to expand and exploded in their fac-

es.

I could feel another fart coming. I knew

it was a big one! I tried to stop it but I

couldn’t keep it in and now I’m on Ura-

nus living with the Uranians.

Super Celebrity Powers By the 3/4D girls.

Yesterday I discovered my superpower was that I can turn into any celebrity I want to. This all happened while I was camping down the river with my parents and my best friends. It was the day before yesterday, there was a massive thunderstorm and we were stuck in it. The rain was heavy, the wind gusts were super strong and the lightning was blinding me. The whole thing was so scary, we had to get out of it. I was run-ning towards my caravan to escape it, my friends were following close behind me. I could hear my friends yelling something, but I just could not hear them over the

storm. Next thing I knew, I slipped on a muddy puddle, my mouth wide open screaming for help. I landed face first in some strange looking wild flowers, eating some of them as I collided with the patch. I had mud in my hair, I broke a nail, my clothes were ruined, a bee bit my bum and those flowers left a horrible taste in my mouth. Both of my friends helped me up and carried me to my caravan. My parents cleaned me up and tucked me into bed. I slept like a newborn baby, that was until the squealing screams of my best friends woke me up. One of my friends headed to the caravan’s bathroom and came rushing back with a mirror. I was con-fused? Especially when she handed me the mirror, “Just take a look,” she told

3/4D Have began a writing unit, looking at all the different parts of a narrative.

Last week, the class was split to create two group stories about someone discovering they had super powers.

They hope you enjoy the start of their amazing stories!
