Is the 4% AS, 5Hp5, 2% lifesteal/spellvamp, and up to 5% increased damage REALLY worth more than the defensive stats from resolve + the 45s CD reduction of flash??? I thought riven used flash better than most other champions in the game. -4

Cons Hates CC Any champion has a tough time with this, but its especially hard for Riven becauseshe gets most of her sustain from her shield and CC. She can't use either while stunned.Accompanied by the recent mercs change, it makes it much harder for her to deal with CC.However, QSS is a huge help for this.
Vulnerable To Ganks: Ever faced a Quinn jungle? You know my pain. If you're playingsomeone like Malphite, you can just hobble away with 100 armor at level 5. With Wukong youcan click w and its a pretty good escape. With Riven you have to be more creative, we'll seethis later (under "Escaping Ganks" section)
Pros+ Least Limited Champion: This is the reason I love playing Riven so much. This allows you tooutplay your opponents left and right. Abusing your cooldowns and knowing when and how touse them is one of the best skills a Riven player can have. If you know when to wait out cds,and when to use certain ones in certain orders you'll be able to curve fights your way.
+ Extremely High Skill Cap: No matter how good you are, you can always get better. Achampion with no limits, is a champion just asking to be mastered. Even I am always learningmore about this champion, and seeing mistakes I make. When I find out new stuff, I usuallyadd it to this guide... So lucky you.
+ Spammable Abilities With No Resource: You don't have to rely on your mana to deal damageor help you sustain. You aren't Pantheon or Malphite, you don't have such limits as this. Theonly limit, are her cooldowns.

What I go with
These are the spells that I'm going with most often. They seem to hold the best chance ofwinning. If you make a good play or show up in a team fight, its sometimes worth morethan a tower.
I've started taking this for lanes I'm confident I can dominate. If I'm not positive, then Idon't want to have a mostly useless spell the rest of the game. You take it to win lane, ifyou lose lane, its pretty useless.
I know people see this as taboo, but I take it in a few lanes including Pantheon, Jax,Tryndamere, and Fiora. For trynd, do it when he es onto you after ult if he's going aggro,for jax do it once he's all inning, for panth when he ws, etc.
Ward Skin
This ward skin is CLEARLY vital to the build. You must be inherently spooky to win lane! It's alsomy favorite, so you may like it too.

I name this item "Dagger of Nightfall"(clever, I know). Its been thrown around onthe forums by a riot personnel and is said tobe in testing.Current Recipe:B.F. Sword + Serrated Dirk + 1000 Gold (Myestimate of gold)Total cost = 3400 (My estimate)Stats:+ 75 AD+ 5% MS+ Unique Passive: + 10 Armor Pen+ Unique Passive: Basic Attacks on EnemyChampions Apply "Nightfall" (60 SecondCooldown)
"Nightfall": After 2 seconds, deal 25% of thetargets missing health as physical damage. Ifthe target dies before Nightfall activates (thedamage) the cooldown is refunded.

Death's Dance is getting a 3% buff to both passives (it is this way on the PBE), so our favoritebuild will be better. It will have 15% of damage dealt is healed, and 15% of damage taken isdealt as a "bleed" effect
Recent Mastery Change 12/10/15
This Mastery is "Assassin," It's recently been implemented into the "cunning" tree. It gives 1.5%increased damage when no allied champions are nearby. Take this if you're going doran's blade orfeel you will destroy the lane.
Recent Riven Buff 12/8/15
Heath Regen: 3.4 > 5.4The main problem is that some item paths don't fit, if you ask me, there's going to be a newitem for her in the near future. Visual done by: Isaac Cortissoz.
AHA! I was right! That is, if "Death's Dagger" goes through.
Item Update ~11/17/15
Don't get rank 1 boots before first item unless its either convenient, or you're facing a rangechamp. A long sword is usually more useful. I like getting this at least after first item, unlessmy enemy already has tier 2 boots.

You can re-emphasize the important parts of his video. Like, a lot of bads tend to roam without paying any regard to how the minion wave is pushing in their teammates' lanes. Re-emphasize that before you even think about roaming, you need to assess your teammates minion wave and see if you can make a tower dive because the minion wave is slowpushing and will have reached your opponents turret by the time you get there, or by ganking your opponent because your opponent minion wave will have reached your teammates tower by the time you get to his lane. -4 The farming and pressuring section seems a little lacking in terms of content. I don't really understand the message you're trying to get across -2 [Denying under tower]: really explain exactly how you know you can duel the jungler. Assessing whether you can duel an amumu is a hell of a lot different from assessing whether you can duel a reksai -2

If you've made mistakes, dw, it happens to the best of us. Sadly, after one mistake, more are sure tofollow. A good way to avoid these is to itemize defensively, as well as adjusting your playstyle to be moredefensive for this game.
First of all, do not, and I mean DO NOT! Ever! build a full defensive item before you have some type ofdamage. A spectral's cowl, hexdrinker, or a chain mail are alright, but a Randuin's is not. If you do this, youwill be useless in teamfights.
