Tres magnifique! - Monica Mahaffey
It’s hard to believe that it is December already. But it is, and you know what
that means...lots of food, fun and celebrations. Don’t miss A Very Retro Holiday
Show with Off the Record in the Grille Room (details below) on Friday, December 5th,
the Countdown to Christmas Party on Friday, December 19th and New Year’s Eve dinner on
Wednesday, the 31st. Oh, and, Russ Kennedy will be performing in the Grille Room on Friday,
January 2nd too! More event details on page two.
Make plans to join us at the club for one (or all!) of our events this month, plan a party, or just stop by
for lunch or dinner. The Club really sparkles during the holidays with the tree and all the decorations. It’s
the perfect time to gather up your family and friends and stop by.
Speaking of parties...dates are filling up fast, so be sure to call John Hess at 518-463-1151 if you’d like to

club. We can accommodate from 2 to 200 depending on the type of event; and, no matter what you choose, you
know the food will be delicious. For more information about our meeting and banquet options visit our website
www.universityclubalbany.com or, if you prefer, contact the club and we can mail or email you a copy of the
Meeting and Banquet Guide.
The Off the Record Trio, featuring Joanna Palladino, Bob Resnick and Lou Sansivero,
is Albany’s very own rock n’ roll lounge band. They have a real passion for the sounds
of the 60’s and it is definitely reflected in their fun, energetic performances. Join them
December 5th in the Grille room for a mix of vintage hits with a modern flair, mod-
ern tunes with a retro flair and lots of rockin’ holiday tunes. Don’t miss it! The per-
formance is free as part of the University Club Foundation’s participation in First
Friday.
Ala carte dinner available from 5:30-9:00 p.m. Seating is limited and goes
quickly and we can only save you a seat if we know you are coming!

We ran out of fall! Despite our best
efforts, the University Club Founda-
tion was unable to begin roof work
before our early winter set in.
I'm pleased to report that we have
88% of the necessary funds in the
lock box, making us just 12% short
of our goal.
If you are able, please include the
University Club Foundation in your
year-end giving. Your donation is
tax-deductible to the extent allowed
by law. Once we meet our goal, we'll
get on the contractor's schedule for
2015.
Sincere thanks to all who have given
so generously to ensure that our his-
toric Clubhouse stands the test of
time, and best wishes to you and
yours this holiday season.
Warm Regards,
Colleen Ryan
President
The club's combined school and prop-
erty tax bill is approximately $35,500
per year. Our current tax fund (locked
box) covers approximately 2/3 of that
amount, with the rest having to come
from proceeds from the club’s busi-
ness activities.
The Board of Directors recently voted
to increase the fund so that it covers
the entire amount of our tax bill. Giv-
en the current number of members,
this means an initial increase of just
under $11 per month per member be-
ginning in January. Since the total
amount of the tax fund is divided
amongst the membership, that month-
ly amount will vary with the number
of members that we have.
This modest increase will ensure that
that the club has a recurring source of
revenue to pay the taxes.
Sincerely,
Matt Badalucco
