2012 HrCA buDGET - The HrCA board of Directors

adopted the 2012 budget at their November meeting.

You will find the entire budget at www.HrCAonline.org

under Community News. We will also publish a summary 2012 budget in the

January Newsletter.

HOlIDAY EvENTS IN HIGHlANDS rANCH - The events put on by HrCA and the

Highlands ranch Cultural Affairs Association help build a sense of community, especially

at Holiday Season. Participate in our hometown spirit by attending several of the fun

and festive events that we plan in December.

SNOW rEmOvAl - Snow removal on the public streets is the responsibility of

Douglas County Government. Trails and sidewalks along major arterials or streets such

as university and broadway are generally the responsibility of the Highlands ranch

metro District. HrCA takes the responsibility for snow removal on our recreation

center sites. As homeowners we are responsible for snow removal on our sidewalks

and driveways. Douglas County has an ordinance that requires homeowners to remove

snow from sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of the snow storm. mailboxes are

generally the responsibility of the property owner close to the area. This is a great

season to help out if you know someone in your neighborhood that could use a hand.

2012 FACIlITY ClOSurE SCHEDulE - The board of Directors also adopted the

2012 Facility Closure Schedule. Have you ever come to one of the recreation centers

during the spring and summer only to find that it is closed for the Annual maintenance

Closure? Our annual schedule is posted on the web page under General Information/

Facilities and locations.

As the days get shorter and the temperatures drop, remember that more members

come inside to stay fit. So enjoy your visit and be courteous to others. If you ever need

assistance please contact one of our staff – we are always happy to help.

All of us at HrCA wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season.

a few reMinders

All lighting and decorations may be put

up 30 days prior to the holiday, and

then must be removed within 30 days

following the holiday. So remember

when climbing on the roof on a sunny

day in early December, you will have to

be up on that same roof in January to

take them down. Please be careful.

Wind can cause trash problems

throughout the community. On trash

days, spend a few extra minutes

appropriately bagging and securely tying

all of your trash so it won’t blow away.

Also, remember to store miscellaneous

items such as trash containers, lawn

tools, boxes, etc. out of sight.

If you have dead plant materials resulting

from snow storms in your yard, please

have them removed. Clean-up in the fall

and winter will make spring maintenance

next year much easier.

be a good neighbor by following a few

common sense rules such as keeping

up your property, storing items out of

sight, utilizing your driveway and garage

or parking in front of your own home as

much as possible. Also, be courteous of

your neighbors by cleaning up after your

pets, and be conscientious of barking

dogs.

let’s all have a wonderful holiday season.

December brings a new series of art classes for you and your

children. For your 3-5 year old, try KidzArt Discover, Play with

Clay, or Edible Art all of which are mom and me classes designed

around the winter theme. For your 5-10 year old, consider

Winter Wonderland with KidzArt, beginning Sculpting, Destination

3D or Young Chefs. These fun art, pottery, and cooking programs

will stir up a wintery good time. For your 11-14 year old, try our

TeenzArt Winter Games art class or the Intro to Wheel pottery

class. Or if you are looking for something for you and your friends

to try together, consider the cooking

class, A Simply Delicious Holiday. This

program that runs on December 14

from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. will help you find

simple, delicious dishes that will keep

your family at the dinner table just a little

warmer. For more information, please call 303-471-8853.

bring your children to Southridge on December 12 at 6:30 p.m. for

a special production of A Christmas Carol. This play is performed by

students of KidStage and is the culmination of their nine-week class.

It is a wonderful opportunity to expose your child to the possibility

of being on stage. Kids performing for kids makes this a wonderful

holiday treat and the best part is it’s free! Just stop by the registration

festive night.

The holidays are right around the corner and we have some

fun activities for you and your family. Consider the Clay lantern

are a great way to spend some indoor time together, making

memorable family household decorations that you’ll want to keep

year after year.

Princess Camp. Princesses will get to participate in a fun holiday

activity, sing and, of course, dance. Or your 2-7 year old

might enjoy our Candy Cane Tumblers Tumbling program on

December 2 and 16. Children will participate in fun tumbling then

listen to holiday music and share some hot cocoa.
