Thank You We had record attendance at our annual Women’s Guild Christmas Brunch last Sunday. And there was a record amount of mimosas consumed as well! Thank you to Patt Perlman and the ladies of the Fellowship Circle for their plan-ning and coordination of the brunch. Thanks, also, to Farol Stroyan for the beautiful decorations, and to Connie Schmidt and the ladies of the Hospitality Circle for all the delicious food that was served. Thanks also go to Jen Childress who is our resident graphic designer. Jen designed all of the flyers, posters, and nametags for the brunch. We truly appreciate Jen’s talent and her willingness to help out whenever asked. Below is the recipe (as requested) for the yummy Cranberry Salsa that was featured on the appetizers table. Many thanks and blessings to all who came and shared fellowship, and to all those who served and shared their gift of hospitality! Merry Christmas to all! Sue Kerschen, Chairperson Cranberry Salsa 3 cups fresh or frozen cranberries 1/3 to 2/3 cup of sugar (sweeten to taste) 4 scallions or green onions, sliced or chopped 1/2 - 1 bunch cilantro (adjust to personal taste), lightly chopped 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced 4 teaspoons chopped/minced fresh ginger Grated zest and juice of 2 limes 1/2 teaspoon salt Combine all ingredients and pulse in food processor until uniform consistency. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours; gets better the longer the flavors blend. Can be stored up to a week. Serve with salty tortilla chips. Makes a large batch - can cut in half. Enjoy!!
And the winner is… Congratulations to the winner of the tickets to the Gonzaga basketball game that were part of the Raffle Fundraiser spon-sored by the Fellowship Circle of the Women’s Guild. Trina Legnon is the lucky winner. Trina is a brand new parishioner who happens to be the mother of a freshman at Gonzaga -also a parishioner. Congratulations also go to Dave and Mer-ry Maccini for winning the tickets to a Gonzaga women’s game. The Fellowship Circle would like to thank everyone for your support of this fundraiser. All proceeds will go to the Jonah Project to help with their important work.
THANK YOU FROM THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH CIRCLE
The generosity of this parish continues to be an amazing blessing to so many people in so many ways. It began earlier this year as crafters began crafting and knitters began knit-ting. Then bakers began baking. It continued as people stepped forward to help set up, staff, and tear down the annu-al Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale. It culminated in shop-pers purchasing our wares, often contributing more than the marked prices. We are so very thankful for all of you and look forward to seeking out worthy causes to support in the coming year with the over $2,100.00 that was raised. That money will go a long way toward helping our neighbors in need. Thank you!!
Tree of Sharing Thank you to all those who have supported the Tree of Shar-ing project this year. Every single tag was tak-en from the tree! Through your generosity we are able to provide some gifts and a large food basket to 27 families who live right here in our neighborhood. Distribution of the gifts and food baskets will take place on Sunday after-noon. A very big “thank you” to Dawn and Mike Kight who have spearheaded this project. It takes many hours to work through all the details and we appreciate their time and efforts. Again, thank you!!
