The Christmas Concert took place on Sunday, December 3rd. The Concert and Dinner was a success. We got to see so much talent from both congregations. We enjoyed a wonderful

evening amongst our church family. The Advent season has begun delightfully. And a big thank you to those who organized and participated especially Lara, Sean and the Knights. Join Us for Journey of Faith!: Are you curious about the Catholic Faith? Is the Holy Spirit calling you to learn more about Catholic Faith? Both Catholics and those inquiring about the faith are welcome to join us on Thursday nights for this joyous journey of faith. This class takes place at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall EVERY THURSDAY NIGHT. We will be using a new book this year called This Is Our Faith. For more information contact Fr. Advent and Christmas are very soon upon us. As we prepare for the coming of the Christ Child we invite all parishioners to join us in decorating the Church at 12:30 on December 24th. This year the last

Sunday of Advent is December 24th. The church will need to remain set for Advent until after the last mass on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. That means we only have from 12:30 until 3:00 to prepare for Christmas masses which begin at 4:00 pm! We will need many hands to accomplish all that must be done so if you have visiting family feel free to bring them along. Please consider setting aside some time to deck the halls!! As we prepare Transfiguration Parish for our Christmas services, we would like to ask again this year for donations of Poinsettia's to be part of the display. Poinsettia's that are donated can be brought to church on Dec 24th. Many hands make light work!." 4th Sunday of Advent will be celebrate on 12/23 at 5pm and 12/24 at 830am. Christmas Eve Vigil is at 4pm in Wallace and 6pm at Magnolia Christmas Day Mass will be at 9am in Wallace

Please join us for a wonderful evening on Monday, December 11th at 5:30 PM in the Church Hall. We will be having a very different CD Discussion Group Meeting on that night. We will be celebrating Christ’s birthday and we need you to come and share your best memory of Christmas with all of us. A pot luck supper will follow. Tradition teaches us Christ was conceived on the Feast of the Annunciation. We will watch the parallel development of “Thomas” in the womb beginning on March 25 (Feast of the Annunciation) until December 25. The Office of Human Life and Dignity is making available a series of bulletin messages describing the fetal development of “Thomas.” Each week we will send out the messages to the parishes.

December 10 Thomas is now considered full-term but continues to gain and grow every day. Lungs are days from completion. I’m practicing breathing with my amniotic fluid. It is easy to grasp things with Thomas’s little fingers. Typically, boys will weigh more than girls at birth. Only 4% of babies are actually born on their due date. Mom, pack your bags, and don’t forget the camera for those all-important pictures of the baby. “They will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God.” (Isaiah 35:2)

December 12: Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Prayer: Our Lady of Guadalupe, who blessed Mexico and all the Americas by your appearance to Juan Diego, intercede for the holy Church, protect the pope, and help everyone who invokes you in their necessities. O mystical rose, hear our prayers and our petitions, especially for the particular one we are praying for at this moment (mention your request). Since you are the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of the true God, obtain for us from your most holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life, burning charity, and the precious gift of final perseverance. Amen. "Celebrating Mary is, first and foremost, remembering our mother, remembering that we are not and never will be an orphaned people. We have a Mother! And where there is a mother, there is always the presence and flavor of home. Where there is a mother, brothers and sisters may fight, but the sense of unity will always prevail. Where there is a mother, the struggle for fraternity will not be lacking. It has always impressed me to see, in different Latin American peoples, those struggling mothers who, often alone, manage to support their children. This is how Mary is. Mary is this way with us: we are her children: a woman who fights against the society of distrust and blindness, the society of apathy and dispersion; a woman who fights to strengthen the joy of the Gospel, who fights to give 'flesh' to the Gospel." (Pope Francis, homily on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016) Homeschool Mass- All families throughout the Diocese of Raleigh who homeschool their children are invited to a special Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral. Date: 12/15/2017 - 10:00am to 12:00pm Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama Contact Person: Laina Yeisley [email protected]
