She has worked as the office assistant in our small office for almost two years, and during that time, we've come to rely on her more and more as a key team member. I have worked with students in this position for over 20 years, and Chloe ranks in the very top tier on all counts- reliability, quality of work, accuracy in following instructions, and ability to work autonomously. All of these speak highly of her work ethic, drive, and maturity. The office assistant position has responsibilities that run the gamut from helping in the warehouse to assisting with the assembly of our products to filing, copying and other office tasks. No matter the nature of the work, Chloe is willing and quite able. She quickly mastered our proprietary computer program, which was a huge help to us in keeping inventory counts accurate. No doubt, she's quite adept on computers and has high levels of comfort and confldence. She also works quite well with people. Because of the diverse nature of her job, she works with a wide variety of staff, and she gets along extremely well with both management and co-workers. Truly, we are quite fond of her and will hate to lose her. This summer, we have increased Chloe's hours significantly and given her projects to work on independently. This is where her outstanding organizational skills shine. Not only has she been able to understand the scope of work we are asking of her, but she has the vision to see how she can make a system even better. For instance, one project involved restocking booklets that are kept in hanging files. After starting on this project, she approached me with a suggestion about changing the style of hanging files because she felt her idea would help us use less space and would keep the booklets in better condition. lf only all my employees showed this much initiative! I truly appreciate that Chloe is a "no-nonsense" person. During the school year, she comes to the office directly from school and gets right to work. Even though she's been up since before the break of dawn and has already put in six or seven hours at school taking a challenging course load, she doesn't show it. She treats this as the start of her work day, and she works hard. Unlike other teens who often need 5 or 10 minutes to switch gears, Chloe's work ethic shows the moment she walks in the door. I mention Chloe's work ethic because it's an expression of how hard she pushes herself. She is one of the most self-driven teens l've known, and she sets very high expectations for herself. Nothing in life has been handed to her on a silver platter. Chloe has worked hard to overcome every hurdle in life, and she has internalized this drive to succeed with a maturity far surpassing her years. No doubt this work ethic, drive, and maturity would benefit your company as well. Yours truly, kk"A*c(_ Executive Editor
