1,000 Books Before Kindergarten (Ages birth-Kindergarten)
Visit any Dearborn Public Library to find out how you and your young
reader can participate in our newest program. 1000 Books Before
Kindergarten is a fun way to encourage reading for children
from birth to preschool.
Books & Bounces (Ages 6-18 months)
Friday, March 10, 17, 24 at 10:30 a.m.
Babies with caregivers will enjoy some early literacy experiences including
stories, songs, and bounces. Registration required.
Registration begins Friday, February 24.
Preschool Adventures (Ages 3-5 years)
Thursday, March 9, 16, 23 and April 13, 20, 27 at 2 p.m.
Preschoolers explore the world of literacy with a caregiver. Space is
limited. Registration required. Registration begins Thursday, February 23.
Toddler Storytime (Ages 18-36 months)
Thursday, March 9, 16, 23 and April 13, 20, 27 at 10:30 or 11 a.m.
Children with a caregiver are invited for stories, songs, and fun.
Registration is required. Registration begins Thursday, February 23.
Busy Bags (Ages 3-5 years with a caregiver)
Wednesday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m.
Children enjoy a play date while adults create busy bags to take home.
Registration required. Registration begins Wednesday, March 1.
Bookflix with Rhyme and Rhythm (Ages 2-5 years)
Tuesday, April 4 at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Join us for some animated picture books with rhythm. No registration required.

I Spy at the Library (All Ages)

Pick up a photosheet at the Children’s Help Desk. Find and identify the
parts of the library pictured. Turn the sheet in at the Children’s Help
Desk for a prize. No registration required.

Yarn Weaving (All Ages)

Try your hand at some artistic weaving. Younger children may need assistance. Craft

The Secret World of Arrietty (All Ages)
Thursday, April 6 at 2 p.m.
Join us in the HFCL auditorium for a special showing of Secret World of
Arrietty (2010, G, 1hr 34 min.). The beautiful animation of Studio Ghibli meets
the storytelling of Mary Norton in this adaption of the Borrowers. No food,
drink, or strollers are allowed in the auditorium. No registration required.
