EU Mobility Week in all partner locationsTheEuropeanMobilityWeek(EMW)campaignrepresentedtheperfectopportunitytopresentsustainablealternativestociti-zens,toexplainthechallengesthatcitiesandtownsarefacinginordertoinducebehavioralchangeandmakeprogresstowardscreatingamoresustainabletransportstrategyforEurope.Theeventwasanexcellentoccasionforembeddingintheterritoryand in the local stakeholders a way of thinking about sustainable travelling showcasing the ATTAC results. In this context, several ATTACpartners(BurgasMunicipality,MarcheRegion,MiskolcHolding,OradeaLocalTransportCompany,ThessalonikiPublicTransportAuthority,UniversityofMaribor)introducedprojectresultsrelatedtosustainableurbantravellingtodecision-makers,transport operators and other relevant stakeholders.Duringthis importantevent,severalactivitiessupportedbytheATTACprojectwerecarriedoutbythepartnersinvolved:theMobilityForumswiththeaimtopresenttotherelevantstakeholderssustainablepublictransportsideas,differentmediaappear-ance, press conferences, questionnaires on public transport, short movies, awareness campaigns, handover of ATTAC gadgets, etc.
Miskolc Holding Plc. participated in EMW, HungaryItwasthefirsttimethatMiskolcHoldingPlc.hadeverparticipatedinthepreparationandorganisationoflocalEMWactivitiesincooperationwiththelocalauthorityandthecivilsoci-ety.EuropeanMobilityWeekhaslongstandingtraditioninMiskolc,sothenATTACLPTeamdecided to cooperate with local organisers from the very beginning. Accordingly, we have managedtoefficientlyintegrateATTACideasintothemainstreamoflocalanddailyopera-tions.Miskolc Mobility Week began with a competition be-tween various methods of transportation to reach a givendestination(drivingacarversuscyclingandtheus-
ingofpublictransport)followedbybreakfastforcitizenstravellingbybicycletotheCityHallSquare.Astheattachedpictureshows,traditionallycyclistshavearrivedfirsttothefinish.FromDaytwotodayfour,Mobilitydayshavebeenorganisedineachcitydistrictinordertoreachmorecitizen’sattention.Ineverydistrictmobilityday,ahealthybreakfastwasofferedto people travelling by bicycle to school or their workplace. In one of the districts the number
ofparticipantsreached600atatimeandingeneralelectricbikestandswerethemostvisited.The„InTownwithoutMyCar”DaytookplaceonSaturday22ndSeptemberandwasagreatsuccess, many families came to enjoy the special activities that took place during the day, such asthesightseeingontheveteranbus(IKARUS620)thatwasrunningtravellingaroundthecityonce every hour.Street Forum introducing/showcasing running of PT projects within the city took place in the afternoon,duringwhichATTACprojectsand its localoutcomes(MobilityForumsandSUMPprocess,DRTpilotproject)werealsopresented.Theinteractionbetweenthespeakersandthe
attendees at the lectures were thought provoking and generated a very lively Q&A session.Thedaywasrounded-offbythetraditionalCriticalMassbikeparadewithnearly700participantsliftingtheirbikeattheend.

2nd Mobility Forum - Palazzo Li Madou, Regional Government palace, AnconaMarcheRegionand theRegionalTransportDepartmentorganized the2ndMobilityForumon theoccasionof theEuropeanMobilityWeek,inordertoensureawidedisseminationoftheATTACprojectanditsdeliverables.Themeetinghasbeenheldby
Mr.SergioStrali(headofTransportServiceDepartmentoftheMarcheRegion),whogavethe input to start a discussion with national and local authorities in order to disseminate theimportantresultsoftheEuropeanprograms.MrStralihasfacedtheissuesregardingtheinfomobilitysystemsandelectronicticketing.Hehighlightedwhattoexpectinthenearfutureregardingthetransportsector:itwillbenecessarytofullyoptimizethenet-work amidst the global decline in economic resources. The large numbers of participants weremainlyrepresentativesoflocalpublicauthorities(ProvincesandMunicipalities),LPtransport operators, voluntary associations, external expert consultants and other pri-vate consultants.
TheATTACprojectgavetoitspartnerthechanceoforganisingtheevent“Trasportiamoci”andtheMobilityForumwiththelocalstakeholdersandlocalpublicbodies’representatives.Theforum focused on the subjects related to the integrated ticketing and the monitoring system ofLPTfleetsintheMarcheRegion.Ithasillustratedtheimpactsthattheimplementationofsuchsystemswillhaveontheterritory.Startingfromtheidentifiedcasestudiesanalysedinthe ATTAC project, the advantages that a smart ticketing system may bring for both the public administration and users of the transport service have been illustrated. Corresponding at the expectationsoftheATTACpilot,duringthedevelopmentphaseinMarcheRegion,thecapa-bilitiesofanintegratedticketingsystemforthebenefitofmanyserviceshavebeenpresented.The2ndMobilityForumwasaimedatdisseminatingATTAC’sresultsandMarcheRegion’sbestpracticesamonglocalstakehold-ers.MarcheRegiondelivereddocuments relatedtoATTACprojectandfreegifts to theparticipantsandseveralexamplesofsustainablemobilitywereprovidedtotheconferencemembers.MarcheRegion7representativesexplainedsomeissuesrelatingto the ATTAC project and its coherence with regional transport policies.
The following material has been broken down for project dissemination:
• MarcheRegionandthelocalpresscontributedtothedisseminationandcirculationofthenewsworthyeventofthe MobilityForum.ThiswasmadepossiblethroughthepublicationofanarticleontheMarcheRegion’swebsiteofthe EuropeanMobilityWeek.

• Notebooksandfoldershavebeenprintedandwheredistributedattheforum
Eventful days in OradeaWithin the EMW the following activities were implemented: ConferenceofEuropeanMobilityWeek -At theeventparticipatingwereallof the lo-calmediaformsthatrepresentedthecityandotherparticipants.Duringtheeventtheimportance of mobility week was presented by the project ATTAC, and the list of the ac-tivities during mobility week. After the event many newspapers published articles about mobility week. AspecialbiketrialeventwasorganizedonedaybeforetheEuropeanMobilityWeek,asan introductiondaynamed“0”whatdemonstratedthe importanceofusingabicycle.PeopleparticipatedfromthewholeofRomaniaandHungary.Communicationsessionsonpublictransport-TheeventwasorganizedinthelibraryoftheUniversityofOradea.Threepresenta-tionspopularizedthemobilitybylocaltransportandtheATTACproject.Duringtheeventunderlinedwerethedifficultiesrelatedto urban mobility and the importance of public transport services.OpenDayattheOradeaLocalTransportCompany-Thecompanywasopenalldayforvisitorgroups.Duringtheopendaythebuild-ings were visited mostly by groups of children. The visitors could look around guided by company workers. They could visit the storage facilities, look at the vehicles, the reparation hall, the administrative buildings, and they were also informed about the ATTAC project. MobilityForum-The3rd.Mobilityforumwasorganized.Participantsweremostlyfromtheuniversity,localstakeholdersandrepresentativesofthecountycouncil,theRomaniaRoadAuthority,thePrefectureofBiharCounty,andmanyotherparticipants.Competitionamongmobilitybycycling,publictransportandcar-Acompetitionwasorganizedbetweenabicycle,variousformsofpublictransportandacar.TheyhadtousethesamerouteandOTLRAcalculatedthetravelingtime.Thetravelingtimeandtravelingcostswerecomparedandwerechosenbythemostefficienttransportmethod.Carwasthefastest,bicyclewasthecheapest,andpublictransportwasthemostefficienttakinginconsiderationthetravelingtimeandcosts.Citytourbybike-AttheendoftheEMWwasorganizedacommontourofthecitybybike.Attheeventmorethan400peopletook part with a bicycle in all age categories. Participants got promotional materials with ATTAC logo and made a tour of the city. TheMunicipalityofOradea,OradeaMetropolitanArea,OTLRAandotherinstitutionsalsoparticipatedatthesamebicycleride.

Successful campaign in BurgasThe campaign started with a mass marathon from the most popular and visiblepointofthecity-thecentralsquare“Troikata”.Itpassedthroughthemajorpedestrianstreets“Alexandrovska”and“Bogoridi”ensuringthehighestvisibilityandvoluntarycitizenparticipation.AllparticipantsgotpromotionalT-shirtswiththecampaign’slogoandcouldusethere-laxationgreenzonewithfreewi-fiaccess.
Participants alsogot theopportunity to see aRetrobus exhibit posi-tionedinanoldgraffitidesignedbusshowingthehistoryofPublictrans-portinBurgas.TheyfilledoutaquestionnaireonPTservicesplannedasallweekactivities.Aninteractivecitymapcollectingcitizens’commentsandvisionsofcityzoneswillbeusedlaterintheprocessofdevelopingalocalSUMP.ApromotionalEMWcardforPTwasavailableforpurchase
atasignificantdiscount.ThePToperatorBurgasbusalsoprovidedafreeofcharge“Callandgetaride”transportserviceforpeoplewithdisabilitiestotheEMWactivities.
Theallmobilityweekeventincludedrollerbladesforrent,EMWbannersforslowingdowntrafficandreducingspeedinschooland kindergarten areas which ensure higher safety to students and children. A demonstration show on wheels included skaters andbikerswastheclosingperformanceoftheEMW.
A3rdmobilityforumgatheringlocalstakeholdersaroundtheprocessofdevelopingthelocalSUMPwasheld.FestivalstreetsthelivingcitystartedthenightofFridaywithclosedtrafficintersectionsofthepedestrianstreet“Bogoridi”whichbroughtalotoffestiveatmospherewith music performances by a brass band and street performances from the national puppet theatre.
OnSaturdayanexpositionofelectricbicycles,bikemarketandbikerepairzoneswereavail-able to cyclists promoting the alternative modes of transport and also the opportunity for amasspicnicintheMaritimegarden.Thiswasthenfollowedbyademonstrationshowonwheels which later went into a disco night on wheels which brought to a close the mobility week of events. A city bike was awarded to the winner of the photo reportage competition which was a competition that showed all the best pictures depicting the week events.

EMW 2012 in MariborTheUniversity ofMaribor, Faculty of civil engineering organised several activitiesandpromotioneventsduringEMW2012inMaribor.Activitiesfocusedonraisingtheawareness of travelling with environmental friendly transport modes, mutual com-munication between local professionals in transport planning, introduction of ATTAC project activities in local media and organising presentation of local public transport operatorsandon-goingandfinishedEUprojects,relatingtosoftmobilityandPublictransport.
TheredlineofAwarenesscampaignwastopresentthebenefitsanddrawbacksofpublic transport, walking, cycling and travelling with individual motorised vehicles. A
broaderaudiencewasreachedwithEMWbrochures,whichweredistrib-utedalongwith localnewspaperVečerandCity lightposters inseverallocations in and around the city centre.
The3rdmobilityforumwasorganizedduringEMW.TheaimoftheMobil-ity forum was to bring together key transport planners in the city and re-gion, to present on-going transport ideas, projects, strategies and meas-ures.ExpertlypresentedlessonslearnedduringSUMPimplementationsinLjubljanaandLjutomercities.
DuringthepressconferenceforEMWinMaribor,journalistsexpressedabiginterestforanATTACpilotinMaribor–introductionofRealtimepas-senger information. An article of the ATTAC pilot was presented on the firstpageoftheVečer(localnewspaper)Annex.
OnthesquareTrgsvobode,whereduringEMWdifferentactivitiestookplace,TheUniversityofMariborenrichedthetraditionalpresentations with public transport section. Beside Slovenian railways, local and regional PT operators presented their self for thefirsttime.Additionallyon-goingandfinishedEUprojectsonmobilityandpublictransporttopicwerepresented,toinformplanners on alternative approaches.

Thessaloniki, GreeceThessalonikiPublicTransportAuthority (THEPTA)participated in theEuropeanMobilityWeek2012organisingaweekofactivities,takingintoconsiderationthefocaltheme.
The2ndMobilityForumoftheATTACProjecttookplaceintheCityHallwiththeotherstakehold-ersthatparticipatedinthisinitiativesuchastheMunicipalityofThessaloniki,RegionalAuthority,PedestrianAssociation,BicyclistAssociationandthePublicTransportOperator.
AftertheopeningtheprogressoftheATTACprojectwaspresentedforthefirsttimesincethelastmobilityforumandmadeextensivereferencetotheEuropeanMobilityWeek,highlightinghowsignificantthisinitiativeisforEurope.AnoptimisticSUMPscenariowasalsopresentedwithspecialattentiondrawntotheElectronicTicket,theTramwayandFlexibleTransportSystems.
Next several lectures were presented about developing and implementing a sustainable urban mobility plan and investigation and introduction of a smart and integrated ticketing and fare collection system as well as Thessaloniki tram lines. The speakers presented the progress of the SUMPfortheareaofThessaloniki,includingSWOTanalysisconcluded3+1futuremobilitysce-
nariosdevelopedandtheproposedmeasuresoftheSUMP.
The event was closed by a round the table discussion.
The most important actions implemented in EMW 2012 were:

• SocialMediaChannelsonSUMPproposedmeasures.AGrouphasbeencreatedonFacebooktopromotetheactions oftheATTACproject,approximately400membersjoined.
• SymposiumonSUMPforThessalonikiMetropolitanArea,asaMobilityForumofATTACSEEProjectinvolvingallstake- holders(Municipalities,RegionalAuthority,TransportOperators,Users,ResearchInstitutes).
• ExhibitionofmeasuresproposedbyourSUMP.ThisexhibitiontookplaceontheCityHalloftheMunicipalityofThessa lonikionthe18thofSeptembertillthe21stofSeptember.Onthe22ndofSeptember,the“CarFreeDay”theexhibi- tionlocatedoutdoorsinthecitycentreinordertobeaccessiblebymorecitizens.DuringthisexhibitionRoll–UpBan- nerspresentedthemeasuresthatproposedontheSUMPandapproximately1500leafletsaboutSUMPandMobility WeekdistributedtothecitizensofThessaloniki.Inallthecommunicationmaterial(Banner,Leaflet)thelogosofthe ATTAC project displayed according to the communication rules of the project. Furthermore, a number of TV spot dis- played in a TV, which is located in the exhibition. Finally, in cooperation with the Pedestrian Association of Thessa- loniki,acampaigntookplace,inwhich500busticketsofferedtocitizenswhoexchange3batteriesfor1ticket.
• ProductionofSUMPGuidelinesinGreeklanguage.
• LaunchofpublicconsultationonSmart&IntegratedTicketingproposals.Duringthe2ndMobilityForumthePublic Consultation on Smart and Integrated Ticketing System Proposals announced to the participants. The Consultation pa- perhavealreadysenttothemainstakeholdersofthecity(municipalities,regionalauthority),ministries,banks,mobile phonecompanies,mobilecommunicationcompanies,etc.Approximately,thepapersentto90stakeholdersanditis hostedintheTHEPTA’swebsite.Additionally,thestartofconsultationannouncedintheFacebookGroup,soastoat- tract more members.
• Videocompetitionon“AvisionforThessaloniki:transport,mobilityandacityimage20yearsfromnow”.Themainaim ofthecompetitionistoraisespublicawarenessofsustainablemobilitythroughtheuseofPublicTransport(OASTH), priorityforbuses,newmeansoftransport(metro,tram,marinetransportation,etc.),todiscourageprivatecaruseand cycling, to facilitate pedestrian urban facilities and reconstructions and to improve the city aesthetic.
• Theofferingof500busticketstothecitizensofThessalonikiincooperationwiththePedestrianAssociationinacam- paignofexchanging1ticketwith3batteries,mentioningtoallparticipantsthatthisisaninitiativeofTHEPTAinthe framework of the ATTAC project.
