Dear Parents/Carers

Live Fully, Laugh Often, Learn Deeply, Love as God Loves You and Let Your Light Shine

In the first half, Writtle dominated, but failed to score until late into the first half. We had our chances, but couldn’t really do much. In the second half, after a team

talk with my dad (the manager), we equalised, then scored twice more to

make it 3-1. As soon as we scored, Writte kicked the ball up the field and

their striker scored to make it 3-2. Late in the match we scored again, and

ended up winning 4-2. Goals: Kumeh 2, Thomas 1, Riley 1

(By Kumeh, 6FT).

It’s a fantastic achievement as this League is for the medium to large

schools and the competition is therefore very high. Thank you to all

the supporting parents and of course to Mr Evans, their coach.

Another success this week, this time across the whole of

Essex—was the

English Competition

– in which we came an amazing 2nd!

Congratulations to these

word-smiths who battled with English questions over a

huge range of different wordy and intellectual

challenges. And thank you to Miss Austin for supporting and guiding them in their

preparation.

Congratulations to our

footballers who have won the

Chelmsford League Cup Final of Finals 4-2.

Sports Day 2019 Thank you to everyone for making this such a great day – even the parking was suc-cessful! The children, PTA, Year 6 helpers and everyone who turned out to support –

and the sunny weather which wasn’t over-powering. Here’s a few photos:

Good Afternoon

I hope your sports day went well, what great weather!

I just wanted to say thank you to your parents for their consideration with the parking

situation – it was a massive improvement on last year – I was out there on duty for over an

hour and there wasn’t a single incident of verbal abuse this year – very courteous and

patient and so many of them walking!!!

Thank you so much for your assistance.

Kind Regards

Liz

Bishops' Prom Well done to all the children in Year 3, the band and the string group for such an

enjoyable concert in the open air. It's great to see all the new skills you have learnt. We are blessed with our music teachers - Mrs Gibbins and Mrs Travers -

thank you to them for their inspiring work.

On Sunday 30 June, Katie Kozlowski and Katie Piddington, along with 76 other children

from Little Stars Theatre School performed to a full audience at

Disneyland Paris. The performance included 6 songs and dance routines from

Matilda, Finding Neverland, Sister Act and The Greatest Showman. The performance was the culmination of 4 months of hard work and rehearsals, after a successful

audition in March. All the children involved were amazing, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, making everyone involved very proud of what they achieved. An incredible

experience for them and a wonderful memory for life!

We have a new priest! Rev Caroline Brown has been appointed to be the

new Anglican priest for St. Augustine's Church. She will be inducted into the post on the evening of November 5th by the Bishop of Bradwell.

Year 3 trip to St. Peter’s Chapel Year 3 followed in the footsteps of St. Cedd on Thursday, walking as if on pilgrimage, the last part of the journey. They took part in many activities and learnt about the life of St. Cedd and the history of the Chapel. And they took with them a psalm written by our very own David in 3R which they then sang with instrumental accompaniment to a tune They had created with the help of Mrs Travers.
