Dear parents and carers,
Welcome to the first Shine Newsletter which will celebrate all of the wonderful and outstanding things the
children are doing during this time. We hope you enjoy.
Year 1
During the lockdown Aren has had an eventful few weekends. He has a chore
chart which has been introduced at his dad's house. He is really enjoying
completing his chores to earn some pennies for his pocket money jar. Aren
has also lost not only one tooth but two!! He got a special certificate from
the tooth fairy for his first tooth and then a letter from the tooth fairy when
he lost his second tooth. Aren has been really helpful around the house and
is loving the extra time he gets to spend with his family! Brilliant.
Isaac in class 1 has researched and
presented a poster about his favourite
animal the Cheetah. He knows where they live, what they eat and
even created a model cheetah out of Play doh. Isaac was very proud
of his work. Super Isaac!
During the lockdown, Zac and all the children on his estate
have been making things to brighten up their park, Zac chose
to make a poster to make people smile! A fantastic way to
celebrate the key workers!
Class 2
Frankie-Joe has been incredibly busy making flapjack, painting
rainbows, going on stick hunts to the nature reserve (practicing
social distancing) and helping his mummy with a creation for their
home.
Really loving the
creation for the home.
Sophia from class 2 wanted to show everyone her new greenhouse, she has planted strawberries, chillies, tomatoes,
rosemary and thyme and some other flowers too. Sophia has planted them all by herself and waters them every day.
She has learnt how much soil each plant needs, and which specific plants need the particular plant food.
She has also picked and planted her own hanging baskets which look lovely in the garden. I hope you are very proud.
Class 3
Over the last few weeks Noah has been incredibly busy
making dens with his brother, celebrating the 75th
Anniversary of VE Day and learning about the working s of
the heart. For this class project, Noah researched about
healthy meals, the sorts of ingredients that go into these
dishes and then went about designing and preparing his own
delicious healthy meal. Looks delicious Noah.
During her work time at home and as part of her Healthy Meal and Scouts Sleepover task, Emily has been discussing
the different food groups and what is needed for a healthy meal.
With her sister Josephine, they worked together to make a beef and vegetable stew with bread, a drink of water
and a banana for her dessert. Certainly looks like they has a great time. Wonderful to see you keeping busy.
William and his sister Ivy have been busy growing
sunflowers for the past couple of weeks and as part
of their on-going work, they have enjoyed observing
the natural changes, measuring them regularly for
growth and drawing them in their sunflower diaries
each week. A great link between Art, Science and
Maths.
Noah in Class 4 took part in a first ever martial arts grading on
Zoom and achieved the highest possible score of a First Class Pass
and got a purple belt which is only 3 belts away from a black belt.
He worked so hard for it and was delighted with his result. An
Outstanding achievement Noah!
Class 5
Oscar has had a busy couple of weeks alongside his brother Noah at
home. He has completed some work on the heart. This included looking
at diagrams of the heart, drawing his
own version and the functions of the
heart. In addition, Oscar has relished
the opportunity to build lots of Dens
as part of the homework set by Mrs
Frost and safely celebrated the 75th
anniversary of VE Day with a nice
outside meal.
Year 6

wooden toys with his Dad. Great wood work Dan.
