Dear Delegates,

I am absolutely thrilled to welcome you all to the first edition of IMUN Catania! My name is Jessica Puleo and I serve as Secretary General for IMUN. This marks my fifth year as part of the United Network staff, and I am very excited for this new conference we are building up in the beautiful city of Catania.

On a personal note, I am currently enrolled in my fifth year of law at LUISS Guido Carli in Rome, and I will be graduating by October 2016. In the past I have served as Director of the SOCHUM committee for IMUN Rome 2011, Director General for IMUN Rome 2012, Director of the CCPCJ for RHSMUN 2013 (conference held every year in San Francisco during the month of November), and as tutor for the Italian students participating to NHSMUN for the past 5 years. The world of MUN has been a big part of my life for a few years now, and I found myself to be very passionate about each and every single aspect of this wonderful experience, which has taught me so much and is building up a great part of my personality.

The United Network staff has been working very hard over the past months to provide the necessary skills and equipment needed for this conference. You will find much relevant information inside of the Background Guide you have been given in the December, which will help you built up your knowledge and preparation for debating and discussing the topic inside of the LEGAL Committee.

I am very excited to see all of the great work you will be doing during the days of the conference and I look forward to listen to all of your great speeches and debates and to see the results of your ideas, combined together in order to find a common solution to such relevant international issue.

Best of luck with your research and I look forward to meeting you all in January.

Cheers, Jessica Puleo
