Sensory Services is a county-wide resource, based in Health & Community Services, within Hertfordshire County Council. We provide services to all children and adults with sensory needs.
The team offers three key pathways:1. Deaf/HardofHearingservicesforpeoplewhoaredeaf/hardof
hearingorhaveadegreeofhearingloss;2. DeafblindservicesforpeoplewhoareDeafblindorhaveadegreeof
dualsensoryloss;and3. VisuallyImpairedservicesforpeople,whoareblind,partially

Hearingaidbatteriestypicallylastforbetween7-14days.BatteriesareavailableatreceptiondeskofWatfordGeneralHospitalandStAlbansCityHospitalandalsobypostfromtheAudiologyDepartment.Patientsarewelcometodropinforbatterycollection,butpleasebringyourownbrownbook.Re-tubingshouldtakeplaceevery6months.Maintenanceincludesbatteryprovision,replacementtubingandminorrehabilitationadvice.Patientsshouldbookdirectlytoseeanaudiologistiftheirhearingaidneedsrepair,finetuning,replacementorfaultyandlostaid.Replacementofalostaidmayincuracharge.Pleasecontactyourlocalaudiologydepartmentlistedbelowforfurtherinformation.
