CasingUnit. 2 - Basalt
-the rock type encountered in the hol-e consisted of numerous basaltic flows. Massive, dark green sections and chloritic, light green, pillowed sections of flows bounded by highly vesicu lar tops and brecciated bottoms are the norm. Pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite are common throughout the hole, in varying percentages from 0.5-2.070 combined sulphides. In the strongly altered portions of the basalt, sulphide content rises to 5-770 . Core angles range from 30-50 to the long core axis. The higher angles generally correspond to the lower portion of the hole.-
