About DC One FundThe One Fund Drive is the District government’s
only official charitable fundraiser. DC government employees pledge their support annually to
not-for-profit, charitable, organizations in the Washington metropolitan area.
The District government has authorized the United Way of the National Capital Area and the United Black Fund, Inc. to serve as campaign
administrators of the 59th One Fund Drive. The District of Columbia will continue to have fiscal responsibility and policy management for the
One Fund Drive. All gifts made through the DC One fund are assessed a 5 percent processing fee.
The One Fund lists more than 800 nonprofit organizations that will benefit from your generosity in this year’s drive. Many employees find that spreading their gifts over the year through payroll deduction makes it easier to support the DC One fund. Gifts to the One Fund can also be made by payroll deductions, cash and/or check, via paper pledge form, or by visiting our website, dconefund.org. Regardless of the payment method you select, your generous contribution helps
to make our community a better place to live, work and play.
D C O N e F U N D 1
The District of Columbia Government is joining forces with United Way of the National Capi-tal Area and United Black Fund to help make our community a bet-ter, safer, and healthier place to live, work, and do business.
We will launch our annual “DC One Fund” cam-paign the first week of October 2013. Our goal is to raise more than a million dollars for our local nonprofits, making this year’s campaign one of the most successful ever. To meet our goal, we are asking for your support of a worthy cause by contributing to the DC One Fund through biweekly payroll deductions.
We’ve all felt the impact of these tough economic times. Our local nonprofit organizations have been impacted as well -- and they need our support more than ever. With your generous contributions, these organizations will be able to continue in their efforts to offer health and human services to District residents and other persons throughout the region.
We ask that you sincerely consider giving a little to help those people in our community who have lit-tle more than hope. When we help our neighbors, we help ourselves and we enhance our community.
Shortly, a DC One Fund Agency Coordinator will be contacting you to discuss the details of this year’s campaign. Also, feel free to get started today by visiting the DC One Fund pledging website, dconefund.org OR the DC One Fund informational website, onefund.dc.gov.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and support. We look forward to seeing you at the DC One Fund Campaign Kick-Off Event in October and agency fairs throughout the campaign which concludes in December.
Sincerely,
Message from the Mayor and DC One Fund Chairman
Lisa M. Mallory Director, Department of Employment Services
59th DC One Fund Chairman
Vincent C. Gray
Mayor, District of Columbia

Why should I donate through DC One Fund? The DC One Fund is a convenient tool for you to make a dona-
tion to the charity of your choice through payroll deduction.
If you itemize deductions on your taxes, this is a simple way to
track your donations. Also, please remember that every dona-
tion of any dollar amount makes an impact in our community.
When does the One Fund campaign end?The second Friday of every December.
Can I do a one-time donation?Yes, you can. Go to dconefund.org and click the “pledge
now” button, login, and then you may donate using the one-
time payroll deduction option or the credit card option.
How do I find my agency’s coordinator?Go to onefund.dc.gov and click on “DC One Fund Organiza-
tional Chart with Agency Coordinators (PDF),” which is located
at the bottom of the homepage. The second option is to send
an email to [email protected] with your agency’s name and
we will respond to you with the name, email, and phone num-
ber of your agency’s coordinator.
My charity is not a member of United Way or United Black Fund, how do I get my charity on the list of One Fund charities? To apply for the 2014 campaign visit onefund.dc.gov to obtain
an application for independent organizations.
Can I give $25 or less to my favorite charity?United Way of the National Capital Area, which is the lead ad-
ministrator of the DC One Fund drive, will not send donations
of $25 or less to an individual charity. If an employee wants
to designate funds to his or her charity of choice, the total
annual contribution must be at least $26. Donations of $25 or
less will be treated as undesignated contributions.
Can I change the amount of money allocated or the charity to which my donations are allocated?Yes. You will need to email [email protected] OR call the
United Way NCA Helpdesk at (866) 583-8742.
Does my ENTIRE donation go to my charity of choice? No. 5% of your donation will go to help cover the administra-
tive costs of the program.
If my username and password for dconefund.org is not working, how do I fix it?Please contact your Agency Coordinator OR email
[email protected] OR call the United Way NCA Helpdesk at
(866) 583-8742. This information is located directly above the
Login username and password section on the dconefund.org
website.
