Sikkim Monastery Gangtok City DAY 1 (13th Mar) Kuala Lumpur – Kolkata Assemble (19:00hrs) & depart from KLIA2 with Air Asia. Arrive Kolkata at midnight, Meet & transfer to Hotel, Overnight at Kolkata Airport Hotel. DAY 2 (14th Mar) Kolkata - Bagdogra – Darjeeling (93Kms- 03Hrs) (B/L/D) Arrive by flight in Bagdogra airport. Today we drive to Darjeeling, Queen of India’s hill stations. Its setting is one of incomparable beauty. A Victorian town of old world charm ‘discovered’ by the British. It is surrounded by fragrant tea gardens which seem to flow over the layered slopes like emerald swells on a rough sea. After dinner in the evening, take a stroll around Chowrastha Mall. Overnight in Darjeeling. DAY 3 (15th Mar) Darjeeling Sightseeing (B/L/D) Today early morning we visit Tiger Hill, famous for its magnificent view of Mt. Kanchenjunga (3rd), Mt. Everest & other eastern Himalayan peaks especially at the time of sunrise. On our way back we first visit Ghoom, as the name suggests it is gloomy & clammy with perpetual fog. A Tibetan village, one can hear the foghorn-like sounds of Buddhist monks blowing their giant Gyeling pipes from the rooftops of the nearby Yiga-Choling ‘ Yellow Hat’ Buddhist Temple. Later we visit the two Buddhist monasteries Chholing & Darli. Later today we take a ride of toy train of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also visit the Mountaineering Institute, created by the late Tenzing Norgay, the Sherpa who conquered Mt Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary. A display of equipment used on the climb is one of the highlights. Next we visit the Tibet Handicraft Centre & the beautiful Tea gardens. In the evening visit the Observatory Hill known locally as Makal-Babu-Ko-Thaan. According to legend, a Red Hat Buddhist Monastery called Dorje Ling, or ‘place of the Thunderbolt’, stood at this very spot. The Nepalese destroyed it in the 19th century, now the Shivas & Buddhists share the temple that stands there today. We will visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park to see the Snow Leopard Breeding Centre and the Red Panda. Overnight at Darjeeling. DAY 4 (16th Mar) Darjeeling – Gangtok (98Kms - 03Hrs) (B/L/D) Today we drive to Gangtok, a fairytale capital in the clouds, balances precariously on Steep Mountain slopes, Surrounded by lush rice terraces, swifts flowing rivers & distant snow views. It is situated in the lower Himalayas & was a small hamlet until the construction of the Enchey Monastery in 1840 made it a pilgrimage centre. It became a major stopover between Tibet & British India at the end of the 19th century. It is also a centre of Tibetan Buddhist culture & learning with numerous monasteries & religious educational. Visit the Institute of Tibetology and Deorali Dodrup Chorten monastery. In the evening at Gangtok, walk through Mahamat Gandhi Marg (MG Marg) and visit Lal Bazaar. Overnight in Gangtok. DAY 5 (17th Mar) Gangtok Sightseeing (B/L/D) This morning in Gangtok, visit the Enchey Monastery, drive to View Points such as Tashi view and Ganesh Tok, followed by visit of Flower Exhibition and stroll on the promontory near the White Hall and Palace complex. Before lunch, visit the home Cottage Industries showroom and workshop. Cable car rides to view the beautiful city of Gangtok. Afternoon is free to rest or pursue your own interests. migratory birds prominent among which is the Brahminy ducks. The word Tsongo in Bhutia language means source of the lake. Next we visit Do Drul Chorten, are two exquisite Stupas, the Dul-dul-Chorten, was built to commemorate the victory of good over evil. The Jhang Club Chorten was built to perpetuate the memory of a great spiritualist of today. Thrul-Shik Rinpoche an ardent devotee of Buddha and one of his best interpreters died in 1962, the stupa immortalizes Rinpoche in the land of his birth. We will back to Gangtok by late afternoon. Evening is free for roaming around M.G Marg, the popular Shopping area in Gangtok.

DAY 7 (19th Mar) Rumtek & Kalimpong (83Kms-03Hrs) (B/L/D)Next we visit Rumtek Monastery, meandering roads through emerald green rice terraces, lays Rumtek, the main monastery of Kagyud or ‘Black Hat’ sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Built in 1959 by His Holiness the 16th Reincarnated Gyalwa Karmapa, it is a replica of Tsurphu Monastery from the Kham region of Tibet.

After visiting the Rumtek Monastery, continue drive to Kalimpong (3hr). Visit Durpin Dara view

point with a brief look at the monastery nearby. Visit other Monasteries, Orchid /Flower nursery, Churches and homes of the colonial era, Dr Grahams Homes campus, Deolo Hill view points, and the local bazaar. Overnight in Kalimpong.

DAY 8 (20th Mar) Kalimpong – Bagdogra – Kolkata (80Kms-02Hrs) (B/L/D) Morning drive to Bagdogra Airport and connect flight for Kolkata. After Lunch visit Mother Teresa Missionary. Over Night at Kolkata

DAY 9 (21st Mar) Kolkata – Kuala Lumpur (B/L/D)After breakfast City tour of Kolkata, Covering Victoria Memorial A fascinating piece of architecture, which has been converted to a museum, Indian Museum Established in 1814, the building has beautiful structure. The oldest museum in India, Eden Garden, The oldest cricket ground of India, gets its name from Mrs. Eden, sister of Lord Auckland. The garden has a Burmese pagoda and a band stand, Howrah Bridge, An excellent example of engineering techniques, the 450 m long bridge hangs without any towers in the river. The bridge is also one of the busiest bridges in the world, catering to around 100,000 vehicles and innumerable pedestrians. The bridge connects Kolkata and Howrah over river Hooghly. Later free for shopping and after dinner transfer to airport to connect flight for Kuala Lumpur at 0045 hrs.

DAY 10 (22nd Mar) Kuala Lumpur Arrive KLIA2 with SWEET memories of the Country of Himalayas.
