Active Voice

Active voice occurs when the subject of a sentence performs the action.For example: “In the end, Okonkwo threw the Cat.” Okonkwo performs the action of throwing. Other examples:

Passive Voice Passive voice is when the subject of the sentence receives the action.

For example: The Cat was thrown by Okonkwo.

HINT: “to be” forms of verbs are a clue that he sentence is written in passive voice!
