Winter is Finally Here! As I am writing this there is snow on the ground and
it is getting cold. Winter is here!
A few of us on the board have plans to go south for
a few weeks and we have decided to skip our
February Board meeting. However, if there are any
issues, do not hesitate to call. We have made
arrangements so that all areas of our operations will
be covered.
Who Should We Call? As you may remember when you moved into
Hartford Square, everyone was asked for names and
numbers of contacts. That way we can call your
contact if there was a concern about your well-being
or about your unit.
However, what we found out over that last month is
that most of the numbers we have are badly out of
date…..most were disconnected or wrong. When
you think about how many people are giving up their
land lines, this makes perfect sense. It’s time to
update our contact information!
Can you take out a piece of paper and give us your:
• Name
• Unit Number
• At least 2 Contacts, relationship, landline
number and cell number.
Please get this to the office in the next couple weeks
so we can make this a simple project and so we can
keep everyone safe. Also, if you haven’t responded
to last month’s request for updated keys to your unit,
can you take care of that at the same time.
Joe Konrad

The Board of Directors is considering a change to the horseshoe pit area due to lack of usage, and would like input from the unit owners. A possible change would be the removal of the stakes and concrete pads, leaving the area as green-space. If you wish to see the horseshoe area left “as is”, AND intend to use it, please place a signed comment card in the Concerns” box in the clubhouse prior to April 1.

NEW RESIDENT PROFILE By Joanne Burgardt
Gary and Karen Ganser Unit 550 Phone - 920-344-2124 I met with Gary and Karen the week of January 12th. They were getting ready to move in at the end of the week. Needless to say, they had a lot on their mind. They are coming to us from Mayville where they have lived for the past 40 years. They have two children, a son who lives in Minnesota and a daughter who lives here in Hartford. They have also been blessed with 4 grandchildren, their ages range from 5 years old to 16 years old, with a 10 and 15-year-old in between. Gary and Karen are both retired teachers, Gary taught for 35 years, and Karen taught for 34 years, both at the Mayville Middle School. When asked about hobbies or interests, Gary offered he is into genealogy, and Karen loves to read. She was pleased to see our library. They both like to play cards, and I pointed out our schedule board with all the activities listed. They said that they found out about Hartford Square, and unit 550 for sale online. We welcome Gary and Karen, and hope by the time this newsletter is delivered, that they are settled and enjoying life in Hartford Square.
Tabs for the Ronald McDonald House are collected
at the clubhouse. I’ve been able to turn in several
pounds of pop tabs due to the help of many neighbors
in the square. Drop them off at the clubhouse or
contact me and I can pick them up. Thanks for your
help in this project that helps others. Nancy
Horan 673-5019.
Please remember to save your aluminum cans and take them to the outside area behind the kitchen. The money from recycling is used for Clubhouse projects.
If you would like the Eucharist on a Sunday morning and cannot make it to Mass, call Ken Schultz , a Hartford Square resident, on Friday or Saturday @ 670-8517. He will be at your unit on Sunday morning to bring the Eucharist to you. Ken is a Eucharist minister at Holy Hill and St. Mary of the Hill.

Home Cinema wireless Projector
Free Will Offering/contribution
for Hartford Square Clubhouse
Since May of 2019 Hartford residents have been
attending the chair exercise and Yoga sessions offered
in the library clubhouse. Due to limited space in the
library one of our residents sets their Home Cinema
projector in the club house so that more people are
able to attend in the larger hall.
The opportunities for a projector are not limited to
chair exercise or yoga. There is opportunity for
everyone to gather for movie nights, football games
and even display our annual meeting on a larger
backdrop.
Who says Hartford
Square isn’t the place
to be!!! We seniors rock!!
If you are interested in contributing, please see the
clubhouse message board.
