Membership Moment: "Develop strong relationships within your club."

Connect with other members in your club and find common interests. When you enjoy your Rotary club, you will likely stay involved. When

families are invited to join club events, younger members are more likely to attend. Provide opportunities for club members to make

connections with one another, especially when a new member joins the club.

Ideas to try

• Sit with different people at every meeting and get to know them better.

• Consider forming a satellite club to meet the needs of members who commute or have young families.

• Invite friends and families to meetings, service projects, and events. Show them how wonderful volunteering is, and encourage them to

join or help out regularly.

• Survey club members to find out what kinds of social events they would like to attend and days of the week and times that are conven-

ient for them."

Let's work on the fundamentals. As Coach Vince Lombardi reportedly started camp each year by going back to the very basics of the game by

announcing as he held up the ball, "Gentlemen, this is a football."

This week's focus classifications are:

Appliance Service - Who have you called to fix your whatever you broke?

Propane Gas Company - We all get gas at one time or another. (Okay, the food's not that bad!)

Management Consultant - You know, the folks who love to tell you what to do because they don't have to do it. Invite to our next meeting

and give Alice their e mail address in order to get the bulletin. Terri Stokes, Membership Chairperson

Today’s Speaker: Jeremy Simmons is the owner/

pharmacist of Beaufort Pharmacy & Compounding.

While growing up in Grays, SC he attended Thomas

Heyward Academy. In 2005, Jeremy graduated from the

Medical University of South Carolina with a Doctor of

Pharmacy degree. After graduating, he moved back to

Beaufort area to work for a local chain pharmacy. While

working the next 9 years for both independent and

chain pharmacies, he discovered a love for helping

people in the community. This love for helping the

community is what led him to open Carolina Pharmacy

of the Lowcountry in October 2014. In July 2016, he

opened Beaufort Pharmacy and Compounding on Ribaut

Road. He enjoys owning an independent pharmacy

because he actually has time to get to know his custom-

ers and is able to offer many services the that the chains

do not. While not working at the pharmacy, Jeremy

enjoys being outdoors. He likes most sports, especially

NASCAR and Clemson football. Also, he and his wife,

Amanda, love to spend time with their two children,

Reeve and Rebecca.

Top: Mark Masterson, Rotary Club

candidacy in Las Vegas this week

Please keep Alan’s family in your

thoughts and prayers. His brother,

Calvin Ray Hardage of Green Cove

Springs, Florida passed away on

December 2, 2016.
