1.0 INTRODUCTIONO Any device that can be used to store
dataO Three types of instruments are
commonly used for collecting and storing data.
-Real-Time Data Acquisition Systems
-Chart Recorders -Data Loggers

Data LoggerO More economical and more flexibility O Greater variety of input typesO Can collect data independently of a
computerO The recording duration for data
logger is dependent on the memory capacity

4.0 ADVANTAGESO Attractive alternative .O Ability to accept a greater number of
input channels, better resolution and accuracy.
O On-board intelligence.O Operate independently of a
computer.

5.0 DISADVANTAGESO Data could be lost or not recorded.O Sensors are very sensitive to the
highest voltage.O Equipment can be expensive for
small tasks.O Only take readings at the logging
interval which has been set up.

-Data logger-Light intensity probe-Torch-Metre rule
O Method-Shine the torch at the light intensity
probe of the data logger.-Take readings of light intensity at
increasing distance from the probe.

O Data Logger set-up
1. Turn the data logger on by pressing the Enter button and make sure the LCD screen says Easylog enter to begin.
2. Use the arrow button, below the Enter button, to scroll through the various modes until you reach Snapshot.
3. Plug the light intensity probe into the number 1 port.4. When you are ready to begin recording press Enter.
Each time you press Enter it records the light intensity.5. When you finish press stop.6. Use the arrow to scroll back to Easylog enter to begin.7. Plug the data logger into the computer.8. Open the Sensing Science program and choose Graph.9. Click on the Collect Remote button in the bottom right
corner.10. A screen comes up with all the remote data that has
been saved on the data logger. Choose the one that you want and then click Retrieve.
11. The graph of the information comes up immediately.12. To change the scale click Display then Auto scale.13. To change the X-axis click Display then Display wizard
then in the X-axis choose Reading number.www.ppttopics.com

Answer 1The intensity or brightness of light as a function of the distance from the light source follows an inverse square relationship.
Answer 2Lasers produce coherent light and used for many things such as making accurate measurements, surgery, reading CDs, and reading the UPC codes on products.
A flashlight is a portable electric light in a metal fiber or plastic case. There is a tiny wire in the bulb of a flashlight that is lighted by being brought into contact with the electric from one or more dry cell batteries

6.4 DISCUSSIONO The term intensity is used to
describe the rate at which light spreads over a surface of a given area some distance from a source. The intensity varies with the distance from the source and the power of the source.
O The primary difference between a laser and a flashlight is the wavelength of the light each produces.

7.0 CONCLUSIONO Data logger is one of the interactive
teaching and learning material in school and can attract student in doing experiment. It help students to conduct the experiments by using data logger device so that the students clear about the significant of data logger in order to get more accurate result and help in data collection.
