not participate. I understand that participants are selected on merit and not on a first-come, first-served basis.

The closing date for applications is Friday July 3rd.

I enclose the full fee of 60.00 (cheques payable to Youth Arts Jersey. I understand that if my son/daughter is unsuccessful this money will be returned to me in full. I understand that the fee is not refundable should I withdraw

my son/daughter.

What is Dance Academy?

With an exciting new venue and performance space at St. James, Youth Arts

Jersey is launching its very first Dance Academy this summer!

Youth Arts Jersey offers a relaxed and fun approach to dance, focusing on

introducing young people to a wide variety of styles to help them grow and

express themselves.

Dance Academy is a 3 day opportunity for those wanting to experience new

dance styles, develop their performance skills, learn routines, have a go at

choreography and build confidence to perform on stage. It is also a great

opportunity to meet new people and take advantage of the wonderful new

facilities at St. James. The course takes place from Monday the 10th to

Wednesday 12th August, 10am 4pm each day (with a lunch break!). On Wednesday there will be a live performance in the evening, giving the

participants a chance to showcase their dance skills to friends and family.

This course will be led by Sessional Youth Workers Jo Dove and Alice Godden,

who each have a varied background in many different styles of dance, and

have set up both the Junior (8-11 years) and Senior (12-16 years) dance clubs

here at the centre. With their experience in dance, performance and working

with young people, they hope to bring you an inspiring and enjoyable few days

of dancing magic!

Workshops will be held throughout the day, and will include:

- Breakdance - Contemporary - Bollywood - Choreography

- Musical Theatre and more!

Previous dance/performance experience is helpful but not essential. We would

much rather you bring heaps of enthusiasm!

Youth Arts Jersey has a refreshment/snack bar on site, or participants are

welcome to bring a packed lunch.
