01MESSAGE

Based in Asia, we are part of Daimler Trucks, the global leader in commercial vehicles. We are comprised of two OEMs, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV). Together, they give us a rich 85-year history to draw from as well as a young, innovative drive. The FUSO and BharatBenz brands stand for industry-leading technology and unrivaled quality for our customers in over 170 markets worldwide.

Our people, hailing from over 45 countries, form the core of our identity and success. DTA is a truly global organization that believes in the power of the team to achieve great things. This is why our strategy is named DTA One: As one team, we will tap our full potential and achieve our goals together.

At MFTBC in Japan, we set the benchmark in efficiency, safety and comfort for the industry with our trucks and buses. We also firmly believe that the future is green, and are putting environmentally friendly vehicles at the core of our product portfolio. As an enthusiastic step toward a green future, we have launched a series-produced all-electric light-duty truck, the eCanter, and also launched E-FUSO, a product brand dedicated exclusively to our electric portfolio.

Having served in the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) for many years, I am convinced that Japanese companies have to open up not only to international markets, but also to a globalization of their workforce in order to remain competitive in the global marketplace.

Daimler Trucks Asia is a great example of how a respected and traditional Japanese company — Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation — can progress and flourish by teaming up with an international partner — Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, to become a truly global organization, overcoming national and cultural boundaries.

I am always amazed to see how the transcultural setting of our workplace encourages talented and motivated people from different walks of life and with diverse cultural backgrounds to work together and, as one, generate new ideas, concepts and products. These unique synergies make us stand out and allow us to innovate best solutions for the ever-evolving demands worldwide.

People form the heart of a company, and companies are important pillars of society. Hence, we acknowledge our role as corporate citizens. Especially so, as trucks and buses form an indispensable backbone of communities worldwide by delivering goods and transporting people. Our aim is to not only grow and be profitable, but to do so in a sustainable way that supports our environment economically, socially and ecologically.

Hartmut SchickPresident and CEO

Kazuo MatsunagaChairman of the Board

In India, we established the BharatBenz brand in 2012, and have grown to double-digit market share on the subcontinent since then. For our growth markets in Asia, Africa and Latin America, we exploit our strategic position in India to offer our robust FUSO trucks built in Oragadam to markets worldwide.

As Daimler Trucks Asia, we will continue to tap the full potential of our global team to consolidate our technological lead in the commercial vehicles industry and ensure the highest levels of quality for our customers.

Yours sincerely,

Hartmut Schick

We are not only the frontrunner in the electrification of trucks that will help cities to lower greenhouse gas emissions and noise levels. We also strive to operate in a sustainable way. Our Indian plant sources 70% of its power needs from renewable energies. For that matter we have installed solar panels both in our Indian and Japanese plants. We use rainwater harvesting and follow a zero-discharge policy for wastewater and materials, to lower our impact on the ecosystems. And our employees benefit from modern work policies suchas flex-time and options for teleworking.

No company, no product and no person will ever be perfect, but it makes me proud to see how everybody at Daimler Trucks Asia is motivated and committed to becoming better every day.

Thank you for your curiosity and interest in our organization and I invite you to explore further.

Yours faithfully,

Kazuo Matsunaga

In 2017, the DTA group sold over 170,000 units, serving more than 170 markets and employing a workforce of around 15,000 people. Both MFTBC (89.29%-owned) and DICV (100%-owned) are an integral part of Daimler AG, one of the world’s most successful automotive companies. 05DAIMLER TRUCKS ASIA STRATEGY

World Premiere. The eCanter.Daimler Trucks Asia celebrated the global launch of the FUSO eCanter in New York City. The FUSO eCanter is the world’s first series-produced all-electric light-duty truck, delivered to customers in the US, Europe and Japan.

Zero-Emission, Zero-NoiseThe all-electric light-duty truck is DTA’s answer to the public’s need for a zero-emission, zero-noise truck for continuously increasing inner-city distribution. In addition to being an environmentally friendly vehicle, it is cost-efficient and economical for users, as already proven within customer tests in Europe.

The FUSO eCanter has a range of 100 kilometers and a load capacity up to three and a half tons — depending on body and usage. The vehicle’s electric powertrain contains six high voltage lithium ion battery packs with 420 V and 13.8 kWh each. In comparison with a conventional diesel truck, it offers savings up to 1,000 Euro per 10,000 kilometers on operating costs.

Result of Intensive Researchand Customer TestingThis global launch of the new FUSO eCanter is not just a product launch — it’s a revolution years in the making: At the 2010 IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hannover, Germany, FUSO presented a first prototype of an electrically-powered Canter E-Cell, leading into a pre-series production for testing purposes in 2014.

The FUSO eCanter benefits from extensive experience of customer trials conducted in Portugal and Germany with the pre-series vehicles between 2014 and 2017. In May of 2017, MFTBC announced its first commercial customer for the new in-line series production vehicle in the Japanese market. It is also already serving a range of customers in six major cities in North America, Europe and Asia, including Japan.DTA is committed to developing and embracing sustainable and reliable transportation solutions to benefit society and the planet. The eCanter is only the beginning.

E-FUSO —Technology and InnovationFUSO — a brand of Daimler Trucks Asia — is the frontrunner in electric trucks. Back in 2010 the brand introduced a prototype of the all-electric Canter E-Cell. In 2017, FUSO started series production of an all-electric truck.

1110 DAIMLER TRUCKS ASIA OUR BRANDS

E-FUSOAs the frontrunner in electric trucks, FUSO has taken the next logical step in creating a product brand dedicated to electric trucks and buses: E-FUSO.

E-FUSO is the first global OEM brand exclusively dedicated to electric trucks and buses. While the first truck to carry the E-FUSO badge is the new E-FUSO Vision One all-electric HDT, the next generation of the FUSO eCanter — planned for launch in 2021 — will also come under the E-FUSO brand.

E-FUSO is a clear commitment by FUSO to the goal of making its complete range electric, as technology and reach permit. It sends out a strong signal to countries and cities that, as a global CV manufacturer, Daimler Trucks Asia is serious about contributing to global and national efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

E-FUSO Vision OneThe E-FUSO Vision One is a concept vehicle that offers a glimpse into our vision for the next stage of electric trucks.

A heavy-duty rigid truck with a gross vehicle weight of 23 tons, it carries a payload of 11 tons. The E-FUSO Vision One allows a range of 350 km on a single charge, depending on application and driving conditions.

Its striking and futuristic design offers a glimpse into what lies ahead at FUSO, while the spacious and minimalist interior shows what the driver’s workplace will look like.

With its head-up display and modern connectivity and communication features, it’s a bold preview of our future products.

Finally, the Vision One is the first vehicle badged with the newly-created E-FUSO brand. This makes FUSO the first commercial vehicle brand to introduce a sub-brand exclusively for electric trucks and buses.

BharatBenzBharatBenz is the youngest member of the Daimler commercial vehicle family. The brand was developed specifically for the Indian market. BharatBenz offers a full range of modern, safe and efficient trucks from 9 to 49 tonnes as well as school, staff and tourist buses and bus chassis.

The portfolio was continously expanded with the launch of its medium-duty haulage trucks (2013), construction & mining trucks and tractors (2014) and buses (2015).

BharatBenz products are sold and serviced through a pan-Indian network of more than 150 touchpoints which is continuously expanded further also beyond the tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
