“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come,

buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that

which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight

yourselves in rich food.

Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with

you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David.

Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples.

Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that did not know

you shall run to you, because of the Lord your God, and of the Holy One of Israel, for he

has glorified you.

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked

forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that

he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares

the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your

ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but

water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread

to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to

me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing

for which I sent it.

“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before

you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their

hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come

up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not

be cut off.” Isaiah 55

Mr. Jess Collicott

Our Staff Spotlight for July is Mr. Jess Collicott, the web site administrator for Cornerstone.

He has been keeping our WordPress-based web site up to date for 5+ years. Jess was

introduced to CCS by Principal Jon Hood. Jon and his wife, Susan, have been very close friends

of Jess and his wife for two decades.

Jess was born in Lawrence, Kansas, and says he has Jayhawks (KU) in his blood. He spent his younger years in Inman,

Kansas. During 7th grade his family moved to Champaign, IL. Then moved to Blair, Nebraska, right before his freshman

year in High School.

Jess and his wife, Jill, met at Country Bible Church in Blair. He

said, “We met through mutual friends at the College and Career

Group, and knew very quickly that we were God's choice of

partner for each other. I won't share how quickly I had a ring

purchased to propose, but let's just say I knew I wanted her to

be my wife.”

Jess and Jill recently celebrated their 20th anniversary. They

have three children - Makenna, a high school Junior, Liam, an 8th

Grader and Regan, a 4th Grader. They also have two dogs -

Maddie and Skip, and Milo the cat.

Jess feels he has been blessed in his career in the technology

field. When he was a senior at Blair High, his Dad was a computer

programmer at Mid America Computer Corporation in Blair. Jess

was able to complete an internship with MACC during his senior

year, and afterwards became a part of MACC a new company

focused on commercial web development. This was around

1996, so the companies were just making their first steps into

building their online presence. The leadership in the company

asked Jess if he would be interested in being their first, full-time

web developer. He accepted the position and has been thankful

to be a part of the tech industry ever since.

Jess tells us about his full time job, “My current job is working as a Solution Consultant for Deliveron Consulting Services

in Omaha. I fulfill the role of a Delivery Manager, which is essentially a project manager, working with custom software

development teams.”

Fun Tidbit: “Jon Hood talked me into a mountain bike trip to Moab, Utah in the summer of 2007, one year after I

started riding a bike in the 'flat lands' of Omaha. If I had known what I was getting into, I don't know if I would have

agreed to the trip! There were so many times I was scared for my safety and I had to stop on a rocky ledge to gather

my wits before moving on. However it was such a beautiful area, and I'm thankful for the experience and memories

with the friends that we went with. It truly is an amazing place and a must for anyone who is passionate about cycling.

To help me take challenges head on, Jon discovered a strategy to keep details from me so that I would go along with

any ride and discover along the way how hard it was - ha! He still uses that strategy to this day... 🙂”

Favorite Scripture: "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you

and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." ~ Isaiah 41:10:
