Note: We will be moving to a 5 day week calendar next year. It’s picked up a nickname “Hybrid” calendar because the 5 day week schools get more Fridays off than they used to and the 4 day week schools will have less Fridays than they are accustomed to. The school day will be lessened a little. More to come as things progress. Mr. Gilmore R.R.H.S. The Rookie Girls had a fantastic

basketball season this year. We

played home and away games

with Weyburn Jr. High,

Gladmar, Stoughton and St.

Mike’s. We also attended a tour-

nament in Gladmar and hosted

the district tournament here in

Radville. The girls finished

their season 2nd at districts los-

ing by only 3 points in the final

game!

We would like to thank all the

refs and scorekeepers who

helped with our home games,

also the parents for driving to

games, bringing food items and

working the canteen at our dis-

trict tournament.

Five leadership students from RRHS attended a great conference in Weyburn. Horizons is a one-day regional

conference bringing excellent keynote presentations and help to student councils and advisors. Horizons, in Con-

junction with The Canadian Student Leadership Association is committed to providing leadership training to

more students and advisors across the country. Inspirational and motivational speakers were front and centre,

such as Andy Thibodeau and Nick Foley.

“ The Horizon Leadership conference was amazing! We learned a lot of very useful and creative methods.`` Alysa

“The conference in Weyburn was very enjoyable. I have taken many of the positive ideas back home with me and hope to

try new ideas within the school.” Vanessa C.

The Horizons Leasership Conference was honestly the best way I could have spent one of my last Fridays off. I got so many

great ideas that I hope to use and learned a lot form Andy, Nick and Gramps.” Jaelyn

“ I think I speak for everyone who went to the conference, when I say, that everyone had a great time. We got to come up

with new ideas that could really help with the school in he near future. Next year I am going to jion the SLC for sure” Emma

“It was a great way to learn some new things!” Seth

This year at R.R.H.S. we had

17 talented students from

Grades 7-9 come out to join

the boys’ basketball teams.

There were seven students in

Grade 7: Ashton B., Hayden

B., Blair G., Conor H., Cody

L., Koltin L. and Cooper M. In

Grade 8 there was: Gavin D.,

Haydon H., Jonah L., Rylan

N., Kyle P. and Tyler W.. The

grade 9s were represented by:

Luke K., Garrett L., Seth M.

and Ty S.

Throughout the year the boys

played as one big team be-

cause of other commitments.

This allowed the team to al-

ways have a full roster to play on

any night. The team played home

and away games with Gladmar,

WJH and St. Mikes. As the year

progressed the team gained con-

fidence and skill and always rep-

resented Radville Regional High

School with great sportsmanship

and dedication.

March 12th, the Rookies (Grade

7s with 2 Grade 8s) headed to

Fillmore coached by Mickaela N.

and Mr. Brinklow. They played

very well and each game they

improved in skill and determina-

tion. They represented R.R.H. S.

very well but fell short in wins

against Maryfield and Redvers to

place 4th overall.

The Juniors (Grade

8 and 9s) headed to Stoughton on

March 12th coached by Mrs. Pirio

and assistant coach Mackenzie

La. They played very well but

found it hard to sink enough bas-

kets to win their first game

against Gladmar. Their next

game versus Carlyle they won

placing them 3rd at Districts.

The team would like to thank all

the coaches, refs, scorekeepers

and parents who helped them

build skill, sportsmanship and

have fun. It was a great season

of basketball.
