Beyonce- Broken Hearted Girl This is a slow track with does not consist of many musical instruments, making the main focus the vocals and lyrics. The video starts off with small cuts after many counts. For example, the second cut is made after 12 counts and the one after that is made after 8 counts. This helps set the mood of the video, telling the audience that the song is slow. This is also shown through the use of the colours black and white and the fact that the artist is crying. However, after having seen the artist cry, we see her reminiscing happy moments with her partner who may be her ex-partner. When the first minute is over, the video begins to have more regular cuts with a long, 24 count clip in between. The fact that, even when the cuts are happening faster, the visuals remain slow, contributes to the pace of the song.

Beyonce- Broken Hearted Girl

This is a slow track with does not consist of many musical instruments, making the main focus the vocals and lyrics. We are constantly faced with extreme close up of Beyonce in two different scenes. This shows her juxtaposed feelings towards her partner and their relationship.

Ariana Grande- One Last Time

This is also a slow song which consists of a single strand narrative. An accident has taken place but Ariana is determined to find the one she loves despite all the commotion. This video is not a typical pop music video as it is completely narrative based. The audience are taken on a journey alongside the artist but are viewing it from the passenger's vision, otherwise known as an eye-line match. ”One Last Time” was shot in one go, with no cuts, making it seem very real and almost as if we were there at the time.

The video generally uses quite dull colours which again is not very common for a pop song although there are still elements of colour. It also adhered to general ethnic stereotypes. For example, black men were shown to be shouting whilst the police officers were white. As well as this, although her costume consisted of casual clothing, she was still revealing some flesh which is common for females in pop music videos.
