General Information — Custom CapsCONSTRUCTIONSTANDARD FABRIC COLORS: Refer to fabric color chart in the Caps & Apparel Catalog. For fabrics or options other than shown in the catalog, a higher minimum quantity may apply. Call for quote.

BRAID: Can be added to any cap at no cost. Rope style only, available in a wide range of colors.

ADJUSTABLE BACK STRAP: Price includes choice of four back straps: plastic snap back, fabric with hook & loop, fabric with standard buckle or fabric with t-slide buckle. If a back strap style is listed for a pre-configured cap, that will be the style used unless otherwise noted. Entire order must have same strap. Leather and faux leather straps are not available on mesh back caps.

CROWN SIZE: Using an adjustable back strap for customized fit, our standard one-size-fits-all crown size (fits approx. 7-1/8 through 7-3/8) is the best option for a universal fit. Other options: XL size (fits approx. 7-1/2 through 7-7/8) Ladies (fits approx. 6-7/8 through 7) and Youth (fits approx. 6-1/2 through 6-3/4). Each option requires a factory minimum of 288 pieces. Specific to Stretch Fit caps only: These stretch-fit caps have an elastic sweatband instead of a back strap. Because of this, there are two size options for Stretch Fit: S/M (loosely fit at 7-1/8, and snug at 7-3/8) and L/XL (loosely fit at 7-3/8, and snug at 7-7/8). A minimum 288 piece order may be split 144/144 between the two sizes on spandex twill caps only.

ORDERSAll orders will require customer signature or customer purchase order before pre-production sample is submitted for approval.

REGISTERED TRADEMARK/Nationally known logo: A letter of authorization may be needed for use of the ® (Registered trademark) symbol or a nationally known logo.

ABSOLUTE MINIMUM: 288 pieces per style, per color with the same embroidery. 576 piece minimum on custom orders. Orders over 576 pieces can include more than one color of the same style cap, with the same embroidery, with a minimum of 288 caps per color and a maximum of four colors per order. NO EXCEPTIONS!

SPEC SAMPLES: The best way to present the Custom Cap program to a prospect is with an actual spec sample of their cap. Spec samples cost $25.00(x) which is charged to your stabilization account when the sample is ordered. If your customer places an order exactly as sampled, within 30 days of receiving the spec sample, you’ll receive $25.00 additional commission on your commission statement. Any changes to a spec sample will result in another $25.00(x) charge. Requests for spec samples must be sent in on the spec sample order form which you can download on Account Pro or get a copy from the Custom Cap department.

CUSTOM CAPS: If you have an idea that’s not shown in any of our catalogs or have a sample of a cap you’d like a price for, contact the Custom Cap department for a custom quote.

PRE-PRODUCTION SAMPLE: Will be required for approval on all orders. Please allow 4 weeks sample production time. Sample approvals must be in writing. After sample approval, NO CHANGES can be made on the order.

SPLIT SHIPMENT: Split shipments are available. Orders for quantities of 288 to 1140 pieces can only have one shipment after the first shipment. On 1152 piece orders and over, up to two additional shipments are allowed provided they are within twelve months of the first shipment. Note: All caps are manufactured at the same time with additional shipments held in Newton, IA. Changes or cancellations are not possible on caps in storage.

A split shipment charge of $20.00(x) per release is added after the first shipment. Split ship/split bill custom cap orders must be entered as a split ship/split bill initially. If the number of shipments needs to be increased after the order is placed, a $40.00(x) reprocessing fee will be accessed. The original order should be canceled and a new order place, indicating the correct number of shipments needed, in order to avoid any confusion.

CANCELLATIONS: No-fault cancellations by customer after pre-production sample has been made. This will result in a $200.00(x) charge-back to cover cost of artwork, tape charge, sample and labor.

DECORATION: Price includes one location direct embroidery up to 10,000 stitches and nine thread colors. *For other decoration options in place of direct embroidery, please see page 2.

TAPE CHARGE: No charge. DUPLICATE TAPES: Not available.

STITCH COUNT: Price includes up to 10,000 stitches. Over 10,000 stitches will require an extra charge of $.21(b) per 1,000 stitches. *Embroidered patch decoration includes up to 5,000 stitches, please see page 2.

THREAD COLORS: Up to a nine color logo…choice of all popular embroidery thread colors. Embroidery imprint design cannot change within an order. Thread color of imprint can change on orders over 576 with minimum of 288 caps per ad copy color. NO EXCEPTIONS! We will match colors as closely as possible, but cannot guarantee an exact match of PMS colors.

STANDARD AD SIZE: 2-1/4” high x 4” wide on cap front.

Second and Third Location Embroidery: Price includes standard direct embroidery. Additional locations, add $.57(b) per cap, up to 3,000 stitches, no tape charge.

ART: Prices are based on furnished vectored art. Without vectored art, art charges will apply. NOTE: Embroidery art should be kept simple. Lettering must be minimum of 1/4” high and preferably 1/2” to 1”. Use customer name only, do not use addresses and telephone numbers. Logo should be as simple as possible.

CHANGES AFTER SAMPLES: If customer makes changes after receipt of pre-production sample, there will be a $100.00(x) charge.

STANDARD CAP LABEL: Vernon label, with theVernon logo and contact information, is sewn onto cap sweatband by default.

CUSTOM AE LABEL: Custom labels containing AE’s name and phone number, with the Vernon logo and phone number, are available as replacements for our standard in-cap label at no extra charge.

CUSTOM CLIENT LABEL: Custom labels with client’s information (no reference to Vernon), add $.19(b) each.

Side or Back Panel Embroidery: Add $1.08(g) each running charge for up to 5,000 stitches and 15 colors. 3-D Puff Embroidery: 3-D ads require art approval. Please add $1.40(g) per cap running charge, per location.Customer Supplied Tapes: Customer supplied tapes are accepted. If the customer supplied tape will not embroider well, we will re-make the tape on orders of 48 or more at no charge. A copy of the design is needed before the order is processed. The Vernon Company’s Order Department will advise if additional charges are needed.Existing Tapes: Embroidery tapes are designed for specific garments. Transferring tapes from one garment type to another may require reworking and additional costs. 1) Item Number and Description: Make description as complete as possible.2) Item Color(s): Verify that the color or color combination you request is available for the item number being ordered.3) Decoration Color(s): Be Specific - provide a sample of the color, or you may reference PMS/Pantone# but these may not be exact match. We will match as close as possible.4) Decoration Location: Caps: Standard location is front, but an ad can be on the back and/or sides. Apparel: Standard location is left chest, but decoration can be on the right chest, full front or back, above the pocket or on the sleeve. Location availability varies between screened and embroidery decoration. If not specified, standard location will be used.5) Method of Decoration: Clearly note screened or embroidered decoration on your order. Check to be sure you’ve used the correct price for your chosen decoration method.6) Sizes: Caps: Stock caps are all One-Size-Fits-All sizing. Custom caps are available as One-Size-Fits-All (standard cut), XL cut, Ladies cut, or Youth cut. (Exception: Stretch-Fit Spandex Twill, which offers two sizes). Unless otherwise noted, the standard One-Size-Fits-All sizing will be used. Apparel: Verify that the sizes desired are available for the item number being ordered.
