Cultural Department Progressive Report

2011-12 Cultural Department of this College has worked satisfactorily during the year 2011-12.

Students have performed & contributed very significantly in the various activities like singing,

dancing, acting & craft activities.

This year the 31st district level youth festival of Shivaji University was organized on 24

th

Sept., 2011 at Deshbhakta Anandrao Balwantrao Naik, Arts and Science College, Chikhali. Our

College had participated in all individual & group items & achieved highest number of prizes.

We got no.1 position in 5 Group items & very well presented and Succeeded in all organized

items. The details of the achievements are as follows.

‘Acting’ is also one of the art, which enriches our life. For the first successive year our

cultural association has secured the 1st Rank for our one act play ‘Ek hota bambukaka’ in Zonal

Inter Collegiate One act play Competition ‘Purushottam Karandak’, Organized by Maharashtriya

kalopasak, Pune held at Deval Club, Kolhapur. In the final play of prestigious Purushottam

Karandak, also we presented very well at Bharat Natya Mandir, Pune. Following awards

achieved by our Students at Kolhapur –

Vachik Abhinaya – 1st – Amit Kulkarni

Best Acting – 1st – Rhishikesh Nikam

Best Director – 1st – Amit Kulkarni

In the final play of prestigious Purushottam Karandak Organized at Bharat Natya Mandir,

Pune, our student got Best Acting Certificate from famous actress Sonali Kulkarni.

Every year Manoranjan Mandal, Ichalkaranji Organizes very well & prestigious cultural

competitions. In this prestigious competitions our college team got 1st Prize in Folk-dance

Competition. In one act play competition we got 3rd

prize out of 36 plays presented and also got 4

best awards - Best female actress consolation prize – Prajakta Bhide, Best Comedy actress –

Pooja Kulkarni, Best direction 3rd

– Amit Kulkarni, Best male actor 3rd

– Rhihikesh Nikam. This

team also participated in one act play Competition Arranged by Karad Urban Bank Sevak

Sangh, Karad & achieved these awards – Best presentation of Stage property, Best background

music & Best acting consolation prize.

Our college team prepared another one act play untitled ‘Friendship’ & Achieved 3rd

Prize in Sakal Karandaka Ekankika Spardha, Kolhapur. In this competition we also got 3

prestigious prizes i. e. Best Lights – Sushant Sawant, Best actress 2nd

– Pooja Kulkarni, Best

male actor consolation prize – Rhihikesh Nikam. The artist, students of the association have also

presented their performance in various places during the year. They are now prepared and ready

to enter in to the professional theature.

Sangli city well known as ‘Natyapandhari’ for their Dramatical history. On the occasion

of 92nd

Akhil Bhartiya Natya Sammelan’s inauguration organized in Sangli on 20th

to 22nd

Jan.,

2012, Our college team presented Street play in presence of well known film actress Smita

Talawalkar & actor Jategaokar. We achieved also 2nd

Prize in Street-play Organized by Bhartiya

Natya Parishada, Sangli.

The Cultural dignity of Sangli viz. ‘Latthe Festival’ was Organized at Sangli High

School, Sangli on 6th

& 7th

Jan., 2012. Our College teams participated in all the 13 Competitions

and secured in 9 individual, 5 group item competition and created to achieve total number of 14

prizes. On the basis of maximum number of prizes and meritorious success the College has

become the winner of the ‘General Championship’ for Four successive years and undoubtedly

Our College Group dance team participated in State level Group dance competition

organized by Shahu Jimakhana, Satara & performed out of 42 teams we got 2nd

prize, which was

very prestigious.

Our well known folk dance – ‘Koli dance’ team participated in “Yuva Jallosh 2012”

Organized by All India Redio, Sangli Center on the occasion of National Yuth Day on 12th

January, 2012.

Apart from these activities the following are also the noted achievements of our students –

1. Tejashree Kale , stood 1st in District level & Divisional Harmonium competition

organized by Jilha krida va Yuvak Sanchanalaya. She also got 2nd

prize in State level

competition organized in Pune.,

2. Priyanka Patil, Stood 1st in State level Solo dance competition organized by Shahu

Jimakhana, Satara. She also got 1st prize in solo dance competition organized by Sangli

Festival.

For the successful completion of all the cultural activities in the academic year,

This year the 32nd

district level youth festival of Shivaji University was organized on 26th

September, 2012 at Matoshree Bayabai Kadam Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Kadegaon. Our College

had participated in four individual & eight group items. i. e. out of 15 items we contested in 12 &

achieved highest number of Nine prizes. The details of the achievements are as follows.

In Indradhanushya i. e. Inter University Youth Festival held at Nanded on 12th

December,

2012, Our College Students Kunal Masale, Yogita Raut & Omkar Bhise represented the Shivaji

University and participated in Folk Dance, Folk Orchestra & Mime.

These College Students have also performed their skill in the West Zone Inter University

Youth Festival held during 27th

to 31st December, 2012 at Surat and achieved the 1

st Rank in Folk

Orchestra.

In the Metianal Youth Festival at Kolkata we have achieved 2nd

Rank in Folk Orchestra.

Our Students Kunal Masale and Omkar Bhise presented very successfully the ‘Marathi Folk

Orchestra’ Competition with powerful teams at National Level.

‘Acting’ is also one of the art, which enriches our life. For the second successive year our

cultural association has secured the 1st Rank in Zonal Inter Collegiate One act play Competition

‘Purushottam Karandak’, held at Deval Club, Kolhapur on 24th

Nov., 2012. In the final play of

Rank at Bharat Natya Mandir, Pune on

Rank for ‘Ek Hota Bambukaka’. Rhisikest Nikam for Bambukaka’s role & Sushant Sawant for

Light effects are awarded 1st Prize.

The artist, students of the association have also presented their performance at Tung on

Apart from these activities the following are also the noted achievements of our students

1. Kirna Holkar , 11th

Science, stood 1st in Classical dance competition organized by

Laxmikant Berde Foundation, Mumbai and Lokmat Yuva Next, Kolhapur, the State level

and National level dance competition respectively on 8th

December, 2012.

2. Priyanka Patil, Stood 1st in Solo dance competition in State level event of Neharu Yuva

Kendra, Govt. of India organized at Bhave Natya Mandir, Sangli on 12th

January, 201.

3. Suraj Waghmode presented variety of dance items in the State festival at Pandharpur,

Miraj, Thane and Mumbai.

4. On the occasion of Yuva din All India Radio, Sangli Station broadcasted for ‘Vividh

Gundarshan’ programme of our cultural association.

5. On the occasion of Friendship day, shooting of the College Campus was conducted by

Sangli Media Services.

6. Six Students were participated in the Acting workshop organized by Latthe cultural

academy during 10th

to 12th

January, 2013.

7. In the workshop on ‘Abhinaya Kala Gun Vikas’ held in Miraj Mahavidyalaya, Miraj on

29th

December, 2012, Six Students from the association were participated.

8. In Swayamsiddha Abhiyan of L. E. S. on 1st January, 2013 no. of students spontaneously

participated with displaying the boards & slogans Bharatiya Veerang presented in

spectrum colours in the main attraction of the Abhiyana.

9. In L. E. S. Rally on 2nd

October, 2012, street play on ‘Garbhajalachi Nako Pariksha’ was

presented at station chowk, congress bhavan and Sangli Highschool.

This year the 35th district level youth festival of Shivaji University was organized on 5th

Sept. 2015 at Wilingon College, Sangli. Our College had participated in all individual & group

items & achieved highest number of prizes i. e. prizes got in 9 items out of 12. We got ‘General

Championship’ with no. 1 position in Maximum Group & Solo Events & Successes in near

Our Student Payal Pande got 1st prize of Best female acting. Above all teams & students

were selected to Indradhanushya Interuniversity Competition.

College, Sangli at New Auditorium of Smt. K. W. College on 13th , 15th & 16th Jan.2016,

Festival Organized by Maharashtra Govt.’s Neharu Youth Centre, Sangli on 28th Jan., 2016.

Apart from these out student Ashwini Wadgave achieved 1st Prize with ‘Rayat Best

Speaker’ award in Late L. M. Subhedar State level elocution competition organized by

Shripatrao Kadam Mahavidyalaya, Shirval. She also got success in elocution competition

organized by various places in Maharashtra.

hazards of poor sanitation’ Organized by ‘Dolfin Nature Group’, Y. C. College, Satara &
