“Imagination is a formation of new ideas that are not present to the senses” (Lindberg, C. A. And Steneson, A. 2010)This project is a collaboration between myself and mens-wear student Luke Shaw. By joining our faculties we have created a fantasy world built on imagination to inspire us to design a tans-seasonal, mixed mens- and womenswear collection for the year 2012.

A primary source for silhouette ideas has comefrom observing generic people with interesting habits, that then let on to a more specified subject, cruise ship travellers. We are aiming for a traditional cruise look with some comical and odd elements. The concept is built on imagination. Cruise ship characters travel to a place where, when they step of the ship, it is their curiosity that drives them to explore the environment. Their knowledge of the islands will then start growing on them, as a part of their identity. The intension is to show, with embroidery, the mark that the cruise journey has made on the characters.

“Like a costume or other identity, my work reveals something that is behind the face that suddenly becomes in front. It is like a mask – not a mask that you put on, but something that groves out of you” (Maurizio Anzeri)
