Meet the Jetline teamMeeT The TeaM

This months edition we are pleased to feature two of our Sales Consultants – Helen Evans and Aamir Pervaiz. Below you can find out a little more about them.

I have been passionate about travel since I was 16 - that was just 2 years ago!!! As I am only 18 now!

I started at 16 in an independent travel agency in my home town as a YTS (youth training scheme) earning a massive £60 per week - and have never looked back.

From here I worked for Kuoni Travel for 9 years, working in the call centre for 4 years - where customer service is their main focus. From here I went to train for the company, before finally going back to the call centre to set up their at the time new World Class team. I was lucky enough in my 9 years to travel extensively to the Maldives, America the Far East, Africa and Australia. After 9 years at

Kuoni and a trip on a Silversea ship - my interest turned to cruising.

I then went to work for Crystal Cruises as their sales manager for the UK. I soon caught the bug after sailing on Crystal Serenity for the first time. My time with Crystal was amazing and I learnt so much about the 6 star product - but I was hungry for more - so I moved on to work for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises as their Sales Manager for London and the South East. This was where I encountered Jetline Cruise for the 1st time - they were one of my best accounts!

After 5 years of working for RCCL and Celebrity and experiencing most of their ships, I became a mum and realised that life on the road was no longer right for me.

So here I am 2 years later working for Jetline cruise and loving it. Where else can I get to talk about my favourite thing (cruising) to customers that are as enthusiastic as I am.

Pick up the phone and give us a call - I would be delighted to help you with your cruise holiday plans.

Hi I am Aamir and you might know me as “Aamir over here”, which is one of my favourite lines. I have now been working for Jetline Cruise for nearly 4 years and really love the cruise business. I am originally from Pakistan and have been in the UK for just over 4 years. I studied IT back home at University and this comes into good use in the office when Ian breaks one of his PC’s and I invariably end up fixing it.

I am very fortunate that I worked in the land department for 9 months, this gave me a great background in different types of holidays and has enabled me to get even more knowledge of the travel

industry. This is very helpful when we are selling cruise and stay holidays as I can put this knowledge to good use to source the best hotels at the right prices. I can also save customers money on personal recommendations such as good restaurants and what to see and do in the resort.

I have cruised four times predominantly on short cruises and I think they are amazing. I believe the best thing about them is the value for money when you include everything that you get. I love cooking and think the food on the cruise ships especially Cunard is exceptional, nearly all the facilities that you use are free. You get all your entertainment included and waking up in a beautiful port of call most days is a bonus and with some of the prices we put together the product is so much better than a land holiday.

I would like to personally thank all my customers who book with me especially the ones who book 2 or 3 cruises a year with me and I look forward to being of service to all future customers.

cruise industry newswith ever increasing capacity the cruise lines are keen to maximise their potential to win business. this is great for our members and us as our choice gets even greater and so too does the quality. Here is our round up of cruise industry news for this month.

Princess Cruises are to increase their Caribbean itineraries in summer 2010 by putting two ships in the region, which will more than double the line’s capacity for the season. Guests will be able to choose from five itineraries, as well as sailing from New York and Florida. Caribbean Princess will return to the popular 9-day itinerary from New York to Bermuda and the Caribbean, while Emerald Princess will sail on a 7-day roundtrip cruise from Fort Lauderdale to the Western and Eastern Caribbean.

“We’ve seen increased interest from passengers in sailing to the Caribbean during the summer,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruise’s executive vice president. “So in response, we’ve significantly expanded our program to offer cruisers a choice of sailings and the option of two departure ports.”

Caribbean Princess and Emerald Princess both offer many features which have been a favourite of Princess Cruises guests for many years, including the dramatic ‘Movies Under the Stars’ outdoor LCD screen and the line’s signature adults-only Sanctuary where guests can relax on plush lounges chairs and have a massage in a private cabana.

Norwegian Epic Hull Artwork Revealed

Norwegian Cruise Lines has unveiled the contemporary hull design which will adorn Norwegian Epic, the company’s largest and most innovative Freestyle

Cruising ship to date, scheduled for delivery in May 2010. Norwegian Epic’s hull artwork is painted on both sides with free form rolling waves of varying sizes that run through a modern colour spectrum of lime, aqua, red, and purple and dotted by silver circles. The artwork was developed by NCL, drawing on the talent and brand understanding in the company’s marketing team in Miami.

Norwegian Epic’s hull design is a departure from the rest of the line’s signature hull artwork which istypically inspired by the ship’s name or the destination the

Princess cruises increasing their caribbean capacity summer 2010

ship sails from. Instead, the hull artwork on Norwegian Epic takes on the characteristics of the ship’s interior features – a sophisticated, modern and sleek design and colour palette that is seen in everything from the innovative curved design of the New Wave staterooms to the more contemporary design of the ship’s public areas.

“An NCL ship is instantly recognisable with its distinctive hull art that conveys each ship’s personality, as well as the freedom and flexibility that is found on board,” said Kevin Sheehan, NCL’s chief executive officer. “With Norwegian Epic, we are taking Freestyle Cruising to the next level, so it is fitting that her hull artwork conveys more of the modern, sleek design guests will find once they are on board the ship.”

The 4,200-passenger Norwegian Epic incorporates many innovations including several new types of staterooms – the curved New Wave staterooms; the biggest ship-within-a-ship suite complex at sea, comprising 60 suites and villas on two private decks at the top of the ship; a new category of inside staterooms for the budget-conscious traveller – The Studios; and spa and family-friendly accommodation.

The ship also provides unique nightlife options with the first Ice Bar at sea; an expansive Aqua Park with the only tube slide and largest bowl slide at sea -- The Epic Plunge; seven decks of Freestyle Family Fun with highlights including a 33-foot high, 64-foot wide extreme rock climbing wall and the first ever abseiling wall at sea; the most bowling lanes at sea with six in two venues; a mixed-use sports deck with the ability for guests to engage in eight different athletic activities; as well as three separate kids’ and teen activity areas and the first squash court at sea.

In addition, Norwegian Epic will offer the next generation of Freestyle Dining with 14 restaurant choices –the most at sea – and 18 bars and lounges.

Costa Cruises new ship Costa Luminosa deliveredCosta Cruises thirteenth addition to their fleet, the new Costa Luminosa, has been delivered by Fincantieri at the Marghera (Venice) shipyard. The Costa Luminosa is the first of three new ships to be construction by Fincantieri in less than a year and is to be the first of a new class of ships as well as the company’s flagship.

The ship is a true symbol of ‘Made in Italy’, 92,700 tonnes with 2,828 double occupancy; she features the largest percentage of balcony cabins on a Costa ship (772 of 1,130 total). The Costa Pacifica (114,500 tons; 3,000 double occupancy) is currently being completed at the Genova Sestri Ponente shipyard and will be delivered on May 29. The Costa Deliziosa, a sister ship of the Costa Luminosa, is also under construction at the Marghera shipyard, and will be delivered at the end of January 2010.

Costa Luminosa features contemporary design trends in a distinctive avant-garde style, with 20 different types of marble, wood, mother-of-pearl and granite. There will be a new 4D cinema where sight, sound, touch and scent come together to form a multisensory experience. Spa lovers will enjoy Costa’s renowned Samsara Spa which features 52 spa cabins and 4 suites, a specialty restaurant and new Kinesis circuit by Technogym, a unique system based on natural movements through a patented system of pulleys for resistance training.

The christening for Costa’s fantastic new ship is set to take place together with the Costa Pacifica on June 5 in the Port of Genoa. Costa Luminosa’s first cruise departs from Venice on May 5 2009; a 10-night itinerary in the Eastern Mediterranean will include two days in Istanbul and daily calls to Bari, Olympia (Greece), Rhodes (Greece), Izmir (Turkey), Mykonos (Greece) and Athens (Greece).

Celebrity Cruises newest addition to the fleet, Celebrity Solstice, has been busy completing her inaugural season in the Caribbean and has been seen so successful there that Celebrity have announced the ship will sail there year-round in 2010. The stylish Celebrity Solstice is set to sail alternative 7 night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in summer months and 7 night Eastern Caribbean itineraries from the same port in the winter, marking the first time since 2004 that the line have offered year-round 7 night sailings in the Caribbean.

“The extraordinary response from our guests to Celebrity Solstice has created a corresponding demand for the ship to sail year-round in the Caribbean, and we´re thrilled to meet that demand,” said Celebrity´s President & CEO Dan Hanrahan. “This move offers guests in North America a phenomenal closer-to-home vacation option whenever they´re ready to get away, and similarly, our international guests now will have year-round Caribbean vacation options with Celebrity that are second-to-none.”

Celebrity Solstice’s move to the Caribbean has prompted the new Celebrity Equinox to be lined up for 10 and 11 night Mediterranean cruises for 2010-11 with sailings from Rome which were previously planned for Celebrity Solstice.

QE2 paying-off pennant donated to Merseyside Maritime MuseumMerseyside Maritime Museum has been presented with an item that is a significant piece of maritime history – the paying-off pennant from Cunard Cruises Queen Elizabeth 2 ship. A ship’s paying off pennant is flown immediately prior to her leaving service. At 39ft the QE2’s is the longest in Cunard’s history – one foot for each year the famous liner was in service.

Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Steve Rotheram will present a paying off pennant to Tony Tibbles, director of the Merseyside Maritime Museum on Thursday 30 April, 2009. Liverpool City Council received the pennant during a commemorative concert at the Anglican Cathedral in October 2008 – as the QE2 visited the city on her farewell tour.

Tony Tibbles said: “Liverpool has enjoyed a close relationship with the QE2 as the city was the original home of Cunard, where the ship was designed, and we are excited to have this pennant going on display at the Maritime Museum. We would like to thank Liverpool City Council for its kind donation.”

QE2’s day of transporting guests on cruise holidays are now over and ship is docked in Dubai. The ship made her first maiden voyage in 1969 and was Cunard’s flagship for almost 40 years, a role which has now been taken over by Queen Mary 2.

Destination FocusThe biggest cruise destination in the world is still the Caribbean, closely followed by the Mediterranean. But now there is a new contender battling for a position – Baltic cruises are becoming increasingly popular and have grown to be more popular than Alaska cruises. Baltic cruises are now the third most popular cruise region in the world and many Baltic ports and cities are thriving as a result.

Tallinn

Destination Focus The Baltic Sea and its surrounding countries – Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany and a number of eastern European nations – are

literally jammed with a plethora of attractions and sights, which makes a Baltic cruise truly the ultimate way to see the best of the region in a short period of time. The Baltic is not only over-flowing with history, it is also home to some of the most fascinating and cultural cities in the world, as well as having many of the most beautiful natural beauty spots to be found on the globe.

Most Baltic cruises will take in cities such as Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, St Petersburg, Tallinn, Oslo and Kristiansand. Every one of these cities has something special to offer, combined with rich history and culture. A stop in Copenhagen

will take you on an exploration of the adopted home of Hans Christian Anderson and a must see is the waterfront sculpture of his Little Mermaid commemorating this.

The naval city of St Petersburg offers a fascinating insight into city life in Russia, with treasures such as the onion-spire Church of Spilled Blood, the Yusupov Palace (where ‘the mad monk’ Gregori Rasputin was dramatically murdered in 1916); Catherine the Great’s palace (with its breathtaking 978-foot white, gold and blue façade); St Isaac’s Cathedral (which has marble walls studded with semi-precious stones).

The Baltic boasts so many gems it is difficult to cover them all. It is well worth rising at dawn to witness the enthralling approach to Stockholm as the ship slowly

makes its way through the estimated 25,000 tiny islands set in sparkling seas. The heart of this famous city has to be its medieval quarter, Gamla Stan, with its narrow cobbled streets dating back to the 13th century lined with quirky shops and atmospheric cafes. A must is to explore the city’s many waterways in a glass-topped sightseeing boat, it is simply amazing.

The Baltic, northern Europe, and Scandinavia are wonderful summer cruise destinations but hotel and dining costs can sometimes be expensive, so another great bonus about Baltic cruises is the fact that it can be extremely cost effective way to visit the region. There are a diverse choice of prices, ships and cruise lines visiting the Baltic with the main cruise season running from May to September, with the busiest cruises in July and August.

On Saturday 22 March 09 I found myself along with my wife at a Cruise Exhibition at Excel in London. This was quite surprising as I had been trying to persuade my wife to cruise for years, without success due to the fact that she had a bad experience when she was a schoolgirl on a cruise for schoolchildren around the Mediterranean. We visited all the various stands at the exhibition. On our visit to the Jetline Cruise stand we met Jane who spent quite some time and effort to try and accommodate us. Unfortunately because of work commitments we were unable to book a cruise on the dates that were on offer. Before leaving the stand we completed a competition leaflet which Jane took.

On the 31st March I received a phone call from Jane at Jetline to say we had won the competition we had entered with Jetline. The prize we had won was a round trip transatlantic crossing to New York on Queen Mary 2 for twelve nights. Our amazing journey started at Cunard check in at Southampton, where we were told we had been upgraded to stateroom on deck 11. Once you have checked in Cunard take care of your every need and you don’t see your luggage (no weight restrictions) again until you are in your stateroom.

It is not long before you see the ship is PURE LUXURY PERSONIFIED. Our stateroom had a king size bed, living area with settee and coffee table with complimentary bottle of sparkling wine on ice. The crossing to New York took six days of pure luxury where we indulged ourselves with the most fantastic food you could imagine.

The day sightseeing in New York was spent under clear blue skies and a temperature of 91 degrees. We left New York on Sunday evening having spent a fabulous day in the big apple. On Monday we had a most memorable experience, we were invited to the commodores table for dinner.

The whole 12 days were packed with so much to do and see time just flew by. The food was 5 star served around the clock. The staff on board were kindness itself and really made you feel special. Thankfully my wife is now looking forward to our next cruise with Cunard.

So a big thank you to Jetline for making it possible and Cunard for giving my wife and I the trip of a lifetime.

Yours faithfully

PULLMANTUR CRUISESThis relatively unknown cruise line is big in Spain with a huge following for its fleet of ships and charter aircraft for affordable cruise holidays. As we know the Spanish love to party and holiday and this probably the reason why Pullmantur does so well with its ALL INCLUSIVE DRINKS policy on board. In traditional Spanish holiday style these offers represent great value for money and helps you to budget for your holiday.

Pullmantur is the Spanish Subsidiary of Royal Caribbean International and benefits from the quality and service associated with them. Plus the older much loved ships from the Royal Caribbean & Celebrity fleet tend to end up under the Pullmantur flag at a much more affordable price. Check out the Sovereign, Empress and Zenith.

One last thing to mention about Pullmantur is that English is spoken on board – as well as Spanish.

The layout of the ship itself is purely unique. It will be divided into seven neighbourhoods, all with its own distinct theme. The seven: the Youth Zone, for the tots; the Boardwalk, with its Coney Island vibe; the Royal Promenade, a bigger, bolder version of Royal Caribbean’s traditional indoor shopping mall; Entertainment Place, for the night time activities; Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center; Pool and Sports Zone; and Central Park, an indoor/outdoor space with real grass and trees.

There is the H20 Zone where kids can enjoy an enormous octopus with water-spraying tentacles, plus a separate wading

poor for smaller infants and toddlers. There is even a sports pool dedicated for laps and water sports and Royal Caribbean’s grandest Solarium yet, standing two decks high with its own bistro it is the perfect place for adults to relax.

Oasis of the Seas is set to be the pride of the Royal Caribbean International fleet, making waves with its flamboyance and uniqueness. Following on from her launch there will be 7 night Eastern Caribbean sailings from December 2009 through to April 2010 with alternating 7 nights Eastern and 7 night Western Caribbean sailings beginning May 2010.

This is a great place to stay with lots of things to see and do for everyone. The airport is situated South along the coast from central Barcelona. The city centre can be reached in 25-30 minutes depending on traffic – taxis cost approx 25-30 Euros. The only place to stay is centrally as close to Las Ramblas area as possible. Las Ramblas is a 1.2 Km pedestrian avenue full of shops, bars and restaurants – this is the equivalent of Leicester Square in London. At the end of Las Ramblas is the monument to Christopher Columbus which marks the entrance to the Port area. The nearest cruise terminal is about 10 minutes walk from here & there are 7 cruise terminals in total. In fact the Blue Bus Shuttle departs from this monument and can take you directly to your ship for just 2 Euros.

Sightseeing musts in Barcelona are the Sagrada Familia Cathedral - they started building this in 1882 and it is still not finished. To satisfy hubby perhaps try the Barcelona FC museum. There is also the Picasso Museum and the Magic Fountain of Mon Juic for Nightly light, water and Music extravaganza’s. The last thing to mention about Barcelona is Port Aventura theme park about an hour outside of Barcelona. This is Spain’s answer to Universal Studios or Walt Disney World in the States – with it’s shows, roller coaster rides and themed areas of the Med, Imperial China, Aztec Mexico, Wild West and Polynesian Jungles.

rome

There are two airports for Rome - Ciampino and Fiumicino. Fiumicino is likely to be the airport we use for our cruises – served by Easyjet and BA. Fiumicino is also known as Leonardo Da Vinci airport and is situated approx 16 miles from Rome City centre. Rome is an incredibly busy city and is more for those who want to see the sights. The best place to stay is as close to the train Terminal as possible as it is easy to get to all of the

main attractions from here on the Metro. You can buy a metro ticket for just 4 Euros riding for up to 6 hours to all of the main sights for this price. Whilst in Rome you must visit the Colosseum, The Roman Forum ruins (which is the old heart of the Roman Empire), the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the Spanish Steps. All of these are easily reached by the metro. Civitavecchia Port is situated 50km north west of Rome. Roundtrip pre-booked transfers usually cost approx £120pp and (unlike many cruise specialists) we usually include these in the cost of your cruise holiday.

Venice

A wonderful place to stay for style, scenery, history and romance. There are two airports for Venice - Marco Polo (approx 20 minutes drive) & Treviso (approx 1 hours drive). We recommend always using Marco Polo (used by BA, Aer Lingus, Easyjet & BMI) as it can sometimes be difficult to get a taxi driver to take you from Venice to Treviso airport. We would recommend two areas to stay in Venice. Piazalle Roma which is literally the end of the road for cars, taxis and buses. This terminus type square is also only 10 minutes walk from the cruise terminals plus restaurants and bars in this area are cheaper. The square is also very well connected to all areas of Venice by waterbus – which is the cheapest way of getting around

watch the world go by. Top souvenirs would be Venetian Glass or the famous and incredibly flamboyant masks. There are lots of museums to visit and it’s a great place just to get lost and wander through the alleyways, over the bridges and by the canals – utterly charming. When the cruise ships are in a water bus connects Saint Marks Square to the cruise terminal. For those on a budget we even found a Burger King between Saint Marks Square and the Rialto Bridge!!!

AmsterDAm

We were utterly surprised when we visited Amsterdam – it was kind of like a bigger more modern version of Venice. With wonderful tree lined canals, picturesque buildings, great shops and very friendly locals. The Airport is situated 9 miles South West of Amsterdam and is easily reached by train which takes you to Central station (journey time 15 minutes). This is in the heart of Amsterdam and is only 5-10 minutes walk to the cruise terminal. We would recommend the 4 star Movenpick hotel at the cruise terminal or any hotels in the centre for longer stays to enjoy the excellent nightlife. Amsterdam city centre is contained within a series of interconnected concentric canal rings and so its great to explore the city by boat. Whilst in Amsterdam you must visit the red light district (of course just for a topic of conversation on your cruise), Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, Rijks museum and the Magere Brug for an iconic shot of the double leaf Dutch draw bridge connecting both sides of the River Amstel. Everything is within walking distance of central station or alternatively trams are a quicker way to get around.

GenoA

Christopher Columbus airport is situated 6km from Genoa city centre passing the port on the way. This may be a bit of an obscure place to stay - but Genoa is steeped in history, has lots of low price cruises departing from here and is the gateway to the Italian Riviera including Portofino - just 15 miles away. Genoa is a dense and fascinating medieval warren of alleyways where Christopher Columbus grew up. Steeped in history Genoa has always been a city of merchants where tiny grocers, textile workshops, and bakeries jostle for position with boutiques, design outlets and goldsmiths. The rejuvenated Old Port area is a great place to stay with its celebrated architecture and lots of things to do. Perhaps explore the maze of narrow streets in the historic centre and marvel at the juxtaposition of late Renaissance style palaces next to humble houses on Via Garibaldi. This is a seventeenth century street with lots of museums and gardens to visit. Nightlife can be found along the waterfront, there are also two theatres, an opera house and even the Britannia Pub.

Below are our top 5 most popular cruise ports in Europe

in Europe and the Mediterraneanextend your stay

Quite often the best cruise deals in the Mediterranean and Europe are reached by flying to a European city. Why not extend your stay and get the most out of your holiday by exploring the city your cruise ship departs from. This is also quite handy when flying from regional airports from around the UK where flight times don’t quite match up with cruise departure and arrival times. Also by adding on an extra night or two – it may mean you are not flying on peak days of the week and could reduce the cost of your flight.

(from here to the Rialto Bridge the cost is approx 5 Euros). It takes approx 30 minutes to travel by waterbus to the Rialto Bridge and it is a great introduction to the wonders of Venice. There are some great restaurants by the canal next to the Rialto Bridge. From the here you can walk through to the most famous part of Venice - Saint Marks Square (Piazza San Marco) which is our second choice for accommodation. The restaurants and bars lining Saint Marks Square are the most expensive; but whilst in Venice you must at least have a drink here to

BONUS UP TO $100 PER CABIN ON BOARD CREDIT*

The only way to cruise the Caribbean is on one of the largest cruise ships afloat. The Liberty of the seas is sister ship to the popular and hugely successful Independence of the Seas. This ship is a destination in itself with a great range of eating places, bars & things to do - including an ice skating rink, water park, Flow rider surfing, Theatre, casino, nightclub, spa, rock climbing wall and much more. Try out one of the cantilever whirlpools with one of the best views on board, have a pint in the pub or be brave and have a go in Karaoke central.

One of the best features on this ship is the Royal Promenade; this large indoor ‘shopping mall style’ thoroughfare is a great place to sit with a cup of tea and watch the world go by. You don’t have to be ultra sporty to get the adrenalin pumping on the Rock Climbing wall and the Flowrider (surfing) is easier than it looks plus incredibly exhilarating.

Something Different

cruisesFrom

Our unique package has been well received by our cruisers and seems to have gained recognition by Cunard. Following on from our success of this great offer Cunard have now featured a similar stay and cruise holiday in their 2010 brochure – BUT with prices starting from £1900 for an interior stateroom!!!

Our exciting offer combines 4 nights hotel stay in Toronto with a trip to Niagara Falls and a 6 night classic Trans Atlantic crossing from New York to Southampton on the Queen Mary 2.

Fly direct from Gatwick to Toronto for 4 nights hotel stay in a centrally located hotel. Toronto has a great range of shops (the undercover Eaton Centre is a must) and excellent restaurants – we recommend the Spaghetti Factory. No visit to Toronto is complete without a visit to the CN Tower with panoramic views over the city and across Lake Ontario towards the distant plumes of Niagara Falls. An escorted coach tour is included to Niagara Falls with free time to explore Niagara, a stop at the Whirlpool rapids, a journey through picturesque Niagara on the Lake and stop at a winery. Plus a trip on the famous Maid of the Mist.

At the end of your Toronto stay fly direct to New York where you will join the Queen Mary 2 for a 6 night sailing back to Southampton. Departing from New York is memorable as you pass the Statue of Liberty and the picturesque New York skyline fades into the distance behind the wake of the ship. Sailing on the Queen Mary 2 is an experience in itself without the interruptions of ports of call. Time to rest, relax, a spot of self appreciation and absolute self indulgence.

We recommend extra nights in New York For the shopping fanatics. Remember if you are sailing back to Southampton from New York – with no flights home your luggage weight is not restricted and is only limited to what you can fit in your stateroom. A great opportunity for some unique purchases!

The itinerary operates in reverse with Westbound cruises from Southampton to New York and an overnight flight home from Toronto.

This offer is brought to you as part of the 2010 world cruise and gives you the opportunity to experience the Orient, India, Middle east and a transit through the Suez canal without the need to worry about flying home.

We have added on a 3 night hotel stay in Hong Kong as we feel this is one of the most exciting cities to visit in the Far East. Hong Kong has an incredibly efficient subway system and presents an excellent way to get around. Hong Kong Island is a great place to stay with the relative calm of Causeway Bay area and its impressive shopping centre to the bright lights and naughty nightlife area of Wan Chai. Then on to the busy Central and Admiralty business areas with its frantic High rise skyscrapers, Hong Kong Park and tram to Victoria Peak. A must for any Westerner is a visit to the trendy and sophisticated Lan Kwai Fong western nightlife area for its restaurants and Bars and a spot of people watching. On the far side of the island you can visit the Jumbo floating Chinese restaurant – reached by taxi.

Your stay on Hong Kong Island gives you the chance to visit Kowloon across the bay either by subway or the iconic and classic Star Ferry. Just off to the right of the Tsim Sha Tsui area of Kowloon and the famous Nathan Road is the Ocean terminal. You must visit the museums here and the incredible markets such as – the separate market places for jade, fish, flowers, electronic goods and general street market.

Winter Cruising at its best

Caribbean Queen Mary 2 from £999pp

13-21 night cruise

➤ BEST SELLER

➤ HUgE REdUCTIOnS On CHRISTMaS CRUISE

This is our top selling Caribbean cruise for this Winter with prices starting from less than £1000 and combined with an exciting stay in New York. Plus look out for the extra reductions we have just made for the Christmas cruise. You can’t help but have utter satisfaction and smugness when sailing around the Caribbean on the Queen Mary 2 - when moored next to other ships (due to her size & classic red, black and white colours). The promenade deck towers above those of other cruise ships moored alongside.

A cruise on board the Queen Mary 2 can be as formal or as casual as you like. With so many dining options the choice is yours. The great thing about Cunard and the Queen Mary 2 is that the service, quality and a choice of food seem to be better compared to other ships. If you like a real home away from home then this ship is the one for you with afternoon tea, tea on tap 24 hours a day, great curries & excellent roasts with all the trimmings. We are particularly impressed with the quality and range of food served in each of the four Kings Court restaurants with food available 24 hours a day. You must also try out the Al fresco Boardwalk café on the top deck for great burgers, hot dogs and salads.

Because Cunard was part of a bygone era of ocean travel, there is a lot of history and sense of celebrity behind the name which you are automatically part of when you take a cruise.

Considering all of this when you are cruising the Caribbean and visiting New York – this represents an unbeatable holiday!

The Sea Princess has reached the height of popularity in the UK having been based in Southampton during the summer for the past couple of years. This year this popular ship is in San Francisco where Brits can continue to enjoy the great range of facilities on offer such as: 4 pools, 5 hot tubs, 8 bars, 5 eateries, casino, theatre, nightclub, spa, fitness centre, kids clubs and more.

San Francisco is an exciting city - the hub of which is situated around vibrant Union Square with its cosmopolitan shops and international hotels. From here the cable car will take you up over the hill past China Town to Fisherman’s Wharf area and Pier 39. The Coit Tower provides an excellent vantage point. Take a stroll in the Golden Gate Park – taking tea in the Japanese Garden and end up at the beach for a great lunch overlooking the Pacific. For a

This has been one of our best selling Scandinavian cruises this year. Save time – cut out the North Sea crossing and fly to Amsterdam. We believe this is a great way to see Scandinavia without using too much holiday time up. These cruises are more convenient with centrally located airports rather than the more remote UK ports of departure.

They are particularly great for people wishing to fly direct from regional airports such as Liverpool, Edinburgh, Bristol and Belfast.**

Also unusually this itinerary includes an overnight stop to one of the most cosmopolitan party capitals of the Greek islands – Mykonos!
