The installation of the restraint systems is mandatory when the safety distance between the fixed obstacle and the outer edge of the roadway is not respected.

In this case the distance between the fixed obstacle and the carriageway is less than 1 meter.

Below you can see the pictures of SMA City installed on the SS 7 bis in the city Center of Casalnuovo di Napoli. The device has been installed in front of an obstacle which has been

impacted many times causing serious injuries to the passengers.

The absorption of the energyThe kinetic energy coming from the impact is gradually absorbed by the system in order to avoid serious injuries for the occupants of the vehicle.
