Temperature and Humidity Controls:

Avionics Lab environment is controlled

through the use of steam injectors to

maintain temperature and humidity at 72

degrees and between 40%-60% RH

Battery Backup Power (Uninterruptible

Power System): UPS Power supplies

steady voltages to test equipment to

prevent damage to hardware under test in

the event that commercial power is lost

Craig Technologies’ electronics M/MRO Avionics Lab has the environmental controls in

place to keep your system or end item safe during every phase of incoming inspection,

test, tear down and repair.

Our team is fully capable of completing the most stringent qualification or

acceptance test procedure.

Wire Harness Manufacture and Test

Types of Harnesses: HO (power), ML (data),

and RF (semi rigid)

Connectors: General purpose, rectangular, high

density, miniature, power, commercial, coax (TNC,

SMA, HN and Tri-axial)

Terminations: Stripping (thermal and mechanical),

soldering (NASA STD – 8739.4, NHB 5300 and

MIL-STD 454), crimping, butt and parallel splices

up to 2/0 AWG

Contacts & Terminals: From 32 AWG up to 4/0 AWG,

flag terminals up to 4/0 AWG

Mechanical: -500 to +25,000 lbs for pull test requirements to certify/verify good

crimps/splices (performed on test samples)

Testing: DC Hipot (manual to 3000 Volts Direct Current (VDC) and automatic to

1500VDC), Alternating Current (AC) dielectric (manual to 3000 VAC), continuity

(manual and automatic). Automatic testing is performed on DIT-MCO 9503-12B

analyzer.

Chemical Mix Crib: OSHA approved laboratory vent hoods, two multiple ovens for

elevated temperature chemical cures, and a deaeration station for performing certified

processes such as conformal coating, staking, bonding, potting, etc.

including the ability to enclose the vibration station

in a thermal test chamber for full environmental

testing

High Pressure Test Cell: Capability to perform

static pneumatic proof pressure testing up to

10,000 psi. The cell is contained within blast walls

for safety

RF Shielded Room: Used to isolate the Unit

Under Test (UUT) from any stray RF signals

generated by local television (TV) stations, radio

transmissions, etc. to ensure these signals are not

interfering with the UUT circuitry during

testing/evaluation

Anechoic Chamber: Frequency Range –

1.8 GHz to 40 GHz (S, C, X, and Ku)

Inorganic materials: Viscosity, nonvolatile residue (NVR), specific gravity, and acidity

Metallurgy: Optical microscopy, detailed hardness testing, and non-destructive testing

using Dye/Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), X-ray radiography and ultrasonic

inspection techniques

Corrosion parameters: Salt Fog test, analyzing heat treated materials

Craig Technologies performs materials-related evaluations and assists in failure analysis

of hardware. The M&P Laboratory has the capability to evaluate chemical, physical, and

mechanical properties of materials, as well as perform shelf life and acceptance testing

of the various materials used in manufacture and repair.
