The Strategic Planning Committee is focused on the upcoming BLOCK PARTY as another "Operation Inside Out" event. August 6th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM will be filled with food, fun, fellowship and an opportunity for us to share the ministry of Cradock Baptist Church with the Cradock community. To make this event a success, "it takes a church" and we are asking those who are able to serve as volunteers on the 6th, assist with preparation, and more.
We ask that you pray with us as we ask the Lord to use us and this event to share His word in this community. We are looking forward to another GREAT DAY at Cradock Baptist Church. For additional information, please contact any member of the Strategic Planning Committee.
Well, the summer is almost gone and time stands still for no one; it seems to march on. But before the summer is over, we are go-ing to try to capture our community with a Block Party to be held on Saturday, August 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This is a great opportunity to tell the community about Cradock Baptist Church’s ministries, especially our ministries to the children and the youth. It will be a fun day with a stage, a bounce house, an obstacle course, and a dunking booth.
Come and help Cradock Baptist reach our community for the sake of Christ. There is something that everyone will be able to do to assist us with accomplishing this event.
The other purpose of the Block Party is to pre-register participants for Vacation Bible School since it begins on the following Monday. VBS will be held Monday - Thursday, August 8-11 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. It will culminate on Friday, August 12, with a Family Night Dinner at 6:00 p.m. We are making plans for this VBS to be special. We will be focusing on teaching the kids about the Bible as well as the specialness of church and worship.
I sincerely hope you will seriously consider how you can be involved in both of these events. We must promote our church to the community as we prepare to go into the fall. Children and youth are the life blood and the future of our church. If we do not try and reach them now, the church will die out as all the present members will be gone!!
Come help us reach our community for Christ as that is what Christ has commissioned us to do. “Go ye therefore …”
In His Service, Pastor Dave Phillips
STRATEGIC PLANNING COMMITTEE Fun, Learning &
Crafts for everyone! Each day you can become part of history as you see, hear, touch, and even taste what it was like to live in Pharaoh’s empire. You will discover how God was with Joseph in good times and bad. These experiences will make God’s Word come alive with new meaning. A light meal will be served nightly for participants.
This Sunday, July 31, Michal Turkiewicz will be back with us to share his beautiful pi-ano skills. He graduated from Grassfield High School and will be attending Harvard in the fall. Until about the end of August, Michael will be playing for us. He has played since he was five and during high school he played for choirs and services at Great Bridge United Methodist Church. We are truly blessed to have him.
Joseph Wetherbee, Jr. who played for us last Sunday, will be filling in again for us on August 21.
On Sunday, August 7, the Beazley Singing Beez will be leading us in worship and shar-ing music from their summer performances. They will begin early with the Prelude (at

CRADOCK BAPTIST CHURCH ON MISSION FOR CHRIST
FINANCIAL CORNER Thank you to all who support the stewardship program of the church and for continuing to focus on expense reduction. We are hopeful that 2016 will be a better financial year for Cra-dock Baptist Church.
As we monitor expenses and review financial reports the following might be helpful for all of us: (1) What do the budget line items and the amount for each really mean? They are simply estimates of what the expenses might be for the year based on expenses from prior years and any known major repairs for the current year.
(2) Does the amount in the budget column mean it’s available to be spent? No, the budgeted amount is an estimate and does not reflect money available for us. If we contribute and meet the budget requirement for each month, then the money would be available.
(3) Should all money donated to the church be submitted to the church office? Yes, any dona-tions including special program donations should be submitted to the church office.
(4) When should we use the voucher system and how does it work? Any purchases for the church should be submitted on a voucher. Each voucher request is reviewed for approval. If approved, the purchase is authorized and a check will be issued for the purchase. Blank voucher forms are available in the church office window with the premises request forms. Any purchases without prior approval will be considered a personal donation to the church. This system allows us to track and monitor expenses throughout the year.
Soon, we will begin preparation for our stewardship focus and the budget for 2017. We ap-preciate your continued support through your tithes and offerings and ask that you pray for the church and this committee as we continue our stewardship in 2016 and look forward to 2017.
Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God that he has given you. (Deuteronomy 16:17 EVS)
The financial report through the end of June reflected the following:
Revenue through 6/30/16 including tithes and offerings, etc.: $60,210.08
Expenses through 6/30/16 including all salaries, taxes, utilities, etc.: $61,604.57
Revenue less expenses: ($ 1,394.49)
God has created me to do him
some definite service …
I have my mission …
he has not created me for
naught.
I shall do good; I shall do his
work …
I will trust him, whatever I am,
I can never be thrown away.
If I am in sickness, my sickness
may serve him,
in perplexity, my perplexity may
serve him.
If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may
serve him.
He does nothing in vain …
He knows what he is
