Work in Progress (WIP) ProjectsWhat is a Costpoint WIP Project?

• A WIP Project typically represents a Fixed Price direct project (contract), where all the direct costs and indirect allocations are capitalized as WIP costs, until ready to recognize those costs as Cost of Goods Sold

• They are typically used in manufacturing and/or inventory environments where material costs are deferred on the balance sheet

• However they can be used on any contract where cost needs to be deferred on the balance sheet

• Note: COGS entry only posts to Owning Org of project and one account
