THE GREAT EXPEDITIONEpisode 2.01


After a good sleep, I joined the crew in the control cabin.The control room in the spaceship was similar to the central control except the transporter platform is replaced by the captain’s chair. The robots looked after the keyboards and Angela was apparently waiting for me.


The wonderful thing about Angela was that she could project her ‘mind’ onto the screens at will. This might also be one of the functions of the central computer, I supposed.

Good Morning! Captain!


This was my first time at work. So Angela started her briefings.


Let us go over what we are going to do.


We are using light to propel our ship. It is now running close to the speed of light.


T1 and T2 are our pilots and navigators. In case of emergencies, they may also act as service men and military personnel.

years from earth.

Although we are travelling close to light speed, we still need around seven years to cover the entire trip.

These colour patches are the periods during which you have to hibernate. The breaks in between are the periods during which we can work and talk.

I have an idea.We people on earth are very interested in time travel. Why can’t we do this? You people should have the high technology to do it. Then we can finish the trip in no time!


Then like Michael J. Fox, we can travel ‘back to the future in a Delorean’.


. . . Or like Dr. Who traversing space and time in a Tardis . . .

The very thought of it makes me so

excited already.

scientists and fiction writers –
