A Simple, Attractive Way to Conceal the Litter Box January 11, 2014 by hauspanther 4 Comments
Looking for a simple way to hide the litter box? This lightweight birch plywood screen from LitterWorks simply fits over any litter
box. It can be configured for front or top entry and the clean Scandinavian inspired design would fit in most homes. Because it has
no back or bottom, it’s easy to remove for cleaning.
The inside dimensions are 23″ x 16″ x 16″. If using for top entry, the box cover works with a 58 quart storage container, as shown
above. This is very helpful if you have a side sprayer!
German Designed Cat Climbing Furniture
Talk about cat climbing heaven! This incredible line of handcrafted designer cat climbing furniture comes from German company
Goldtatze, which seems to translate to “Gold Paw”, a fitting name since any cat who is given such luxurious accommodations is
certainly living the good life!
Designer and craftsman Stefan Hofmann created these pieces for his cat, Mowgli, who he inherited when he moved into a new
apartment. Mowgli apparently needed some indoor entertainment, and boy did he get it!
The Goldtatze website is entirely in German, but from what I’ve managed to translate, it looks like there are several interesting
products including ceiling-mounted walkways and beds, wall-mounted perches, cat trees, scratchers, climbing poles, and much
more.
I believe each piece is custom made to your specifications and shipping to the US is probably outrageous, if even available at all,
so I’d just like everyone to enjoy the photos and be inspired by this incredible feline design.
You can see more at goldtatze.de and also follow them on Facebook.

Peach Industries Kitty Lounger Mini Is Hauspanther Approved! October 30, 2013 by hauspanther 4 Comments
The nice folks over at Peach Industries sent us their Kitty Lounger Mini to test, and I’m happy to report, it’s a new favorite! This little
hammock is just the right size for cats to climb into for a cozy nap, and it doesn’t take up too much floor space. Measuring 19.25″
square by 6.5″ tall it’s compact and kitty-sized. Everyone loves it, from my smallest kids to the larger, um, “big boned” cats.
Ando is a good 15 lbs and, as you can see, he fits quite nicely. The Kitty Lounger Mini is usually occupied, no matter where I put it.
It’s also really easy to assemble, just a few pieces and no tools needed.
You can choose from five different fabrics for the hammock – Amethyst, Harlequin, Marmalade, Neptune or Slate. The Kitty
Lounger Mini is available directly from PeachIndustries.com.
Introducing MadCat Modern Modular Cat Furniture January 9, 2013 by hauspanther 10 Comments
Here’s a brand new line of modular cat climbing furniture that’s really unlike anything I’ve seen. It’s from a new company called
MadCat based in Bismarck, North Dakota. They call their products CatAeries, a play on the words “cattery” and “aerie,” which is a
high nest. I also love their definition of madcat:
madcat v : to suddenly go from calm to berserk, as when cats leap about and race around or chase imaginary objects for no
apparent reason [Puff madcatted around the house]
The MadCat CatAeries are modular climbing structures made from a system of platforms and poles. In addition to the design
flexibility, I love the sleek, clean look. The simple wooden platforms would be very easy to keep clean, and you can add removable,
washable cushions to create soft surfaces for perching.
There are several different sizes and shapes of platforms, as well as nests, enclosed boxes, and scratching poles. You can
purchase complete kits or create your own unique structure. Visit MadCatWorks.com for more details.
Magnificent Modular Cat Climbing Wall December 15, 2012 by hauspanther 30 Comments
Hold on to your cats! This might be the coolest new concept I’ve seen in a while! I just received photos from the folks at Catswall
Design of this brilliant new idea for a modular cat climbing wall. It’s a set of beautifully crafted wooden boxes that mount on a wall
grid so you can move the boxes around to create a modular configuration of climbing, perching, and napping spots for kitty. Only
the grid is attached to the wall and the boxes hang on the grid. Great idea!
The boxes have hinged lids for easy cleaning and they are made of natural wood for a clean contemporary look.
I absolutely love the cat and fish cutouts. The photos of the cats inside the boxes look like “face-in-the-hole” photo booth shots!
Hilarious!
This design is just in the concept phase now. This is the prototype, but I’m told the company is working on bringing this to market if
it’s something people would be interested in. Please leave a comment and let us know what you think!
Modern Cat Trees from Square Cat Habitat March 15, 2013 by hauspanther 3 Comments
If you’re looking for a modern cat tree, Square Cat Habitat offers two different styles that are sure to please both you and your cat.
These unique cat towers provide cats with a place to climb, while adding an elegant modern form to your home. The clean lines
and excellent craftsmanship make these timeless pieces that will last for many years.
First we have the Acacia Cat Tree. This is a smaller cat tree measuring 36″ tall, perfect for lounging at petting height. There are a
variety of finish options including sustainable design fiberboard or birch plywood with black or white laminate, or for a higher end
finish, choose the architectural bamboo plywood in amber or natural. Carpet inserts come in a wide variety of colors to match any
interior.
The second design is the Baobab Cat Tree, measuring 60″ tall. This beautiful cat tower will give kitty multiple levels to climb with a
large perch on top. The Baobab is available in laminated sustainable design fiberboard or architectural bamboo plywood with all the
same carpet color options as the Acacia.
Both the Acacia and the Baobab cat trees come with replaceable carpet inserts on all of the platforms. Carpet inserts are securely
held in place with Velcro and can be replaced as they become worn, or you can switch to a new carpet color if you change your
decor.
For extra kitty fun, you can add an optional hanging catnip toy to either cat tree.
Cat Castle From The Refined Feline January 25, 2013 by hauspanther 4 Comments
The Catemporary Cat Castle from The Refined Feline is a stylish cat tower with multiple levels for climbing and
cool contemporary graphics on the outside. Made from heavy-duty cardboard, the Catemporary Cat Castle comes in two sizes. The
smaller version measures 20″ x 20″ x 30″ tall and the large castle is 24″ x 24″ x 60″ tall. The larger tower has metal support pieces
inside for added durability.
Cat Trees from Wohnblock
Check out these exquisite cat trees from German design firm Wohnblock! Now this is incredible design! From what I can surmise
via Google Translate, Wohnblock was created by designer Oliver Kriege with the intention of synthesizing function and aesthetics
to make both cats and their guardians happy. I think he’s achieved his goal because these gorgeous cat trees make me very happy
and the beautiful kitties seem to be enjoying them, too.
Of course these beautiful and functional objects come with a hefty price tag (in the $2000+ price range), but we can all dream about
owning one. Each piece is handcrafted in the Wohnblock studio in Essen, Germany.
There are two styles of cat tree currently available, the Retro and the Reading Cat. Both have replaceable carpet pads that come in
a variety of colors to match your decor. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing when else this company does in the future.
Modern Post and Beam Cat House From Davies Decor October 23, 2013 by hauspanther 4 Comments
If you’re serious about modern architecture, then you’re going to flip for this beautiful modern cat house. Created by Tom Davies of
Davies Decor, this modern cat hideaway is designed with classic post and beam principles, horizontal lines and a gorgeous
combination of natural materials including solid oak beams and African sapele wood veneer.
The stained poplar wood screen is the perfect modern touch, letting kitty peek out to keep an eye on things, and the rooftop sisal
wrapped panel adds extra functionality.
I especially like the subtle cat face opening into the spacious 24″ x 18″ interior.
