The three main components of a CPS

system - generator, induction coupling,

and diesel engine - are mounted on a

base frame. A factory assembled and

tested system will be delivered to our

When utility power fails, the consequences can be financially

devastating, or even life threatening! A mainframe computer at a

stock exchange, a radar screen at an airport, an ISP’s server,

a manufacturing production line, or an operating room at the hospital,

are just a few examples of critical operations. All of these operations

need protection against power failures and interruptions.

Products That Protect




An induction coupling consists of an

inner and outer rotor. The outer rotor

contains windings that further

accelerate the free rotating inner rotor.

These windings allow the stored

kinetic energy to be utilized during

utility power failures.

In normal and diesel operation, the

CPS system acts as a power filter.

When utility power fails, the diesel

CPS system automatically and

without interruption takes over the

critical load.

Hitec Power Protection diesel CPS systems provide clean, reliable

and continuous power to mission critical operations. In normal

operation, our systems provide value added features by serving as a

power conditioner, while preventing dips, breaks, spikes, sags or surges.

When the utility power is lost, the CPS immediately transfers to diesel

operation. During the transfer our induction coupling, a kinetic energy

storage medium and buffer, supplements utility power without any

interruption. Meanwhile the diesel engine is started and will pick up the

load for an indefinite period.

Hitec Power Protection’s CPS systems are of the highest quality available

on the market today. Our CPS systems are reliable due to simple and

robust construction. The systems are inexpensive to operate and

maintain. Additionally, our CPS systems have a long service life.

Our high-quality product is compact and requires a small installation

space. This all contributes to lowering the system’s overall cost,

especially when compared to alternative solutions that use batteries as

an energy storage medium.

Department provides operational

training for end users and detailed

Based on the concept of standard modular construction, we install

complete CPS systems. And because each customer has individual

power supply requirements, our CPS systems can easily be modified to

meet all specific business demands. Prior to delivery, we test each

CPS system under realistic field conditions at our ‘state of the art’ test

facilities.

As a total system provider, Hitec Power Protection offers more than just

CPS systems. Our CPS Rental Services department features a rental fleet

of CPS systems with ratings up to 1,000 kVA in ISO containers. These

portable units are available for temporary power solutions and disaster

recovery.

Additionally, our Special Measuring Systems product group provides ultra

high-precision DC current measuring systems for the scientific and High

Voltage DC Distribution market. The systems are either based on the

zero-flux or on the shunt (resistive) principle. Hitec Power Protection was

the first to manufacture these products for scientific applications and have

since been successfully manufacturing them for many years.
