Quality in logistics services

Willems Transport is a family business that has grown over the course of 80 years into a

specialised logistics service provider. Besides goods flows by lorry, sometimes supplemented

by rail or water modalities, we manage your stock according to FIFO principles. We

check the quality of incoming and outgoing goods flows, monitor the keeping quality of

your goods, (re)package your goods in line with the latest and most demanding quality

standards. Taking care of your goods is our key concern. Use is hereby made of tstate-of-

the-art information flows, such as Cloud solutions (Dropbox), linked systems, automatic

KPI registration, a range of XML links, planning, time registration & localisation systems.

Providing a carefree service to clients in the broadest sense of the word. This extends beyond transport to, for instance, the (re)packing of goods. But also stock management, raw material supply, processing of call orders by suppliers, coordination with clients and monitoring the ‘best before’ date. Linked systems with various clients give us immediate insight into production and incoming and outgoing flows. Information that we can use to adjust our transport capacity and give instructions to suppliers and transporters.

By achieving the Lean and Green Award, with the objective in 2014: 52% reduction in CO2 emissions compared with 2009, and organising our processes in accordance with quality systems (ISO 9001-2008 and IFS Logistic Standard, we strive to optimise our sustainability performance.

Whenever purchasing new equipment we obviously take into account the energy consumption, environmental load and the potential for energy savings. Information technology, such as on-board computers and modern communication methods, contributes towards efficient operations, with clear benefits in terms of energy consumption and environmental considerations.

WORKING PRACTICES AND VISION

We distinguish ourselves by offering optimal service and quality, linked systems and digitised information flows. In the hands of well trained and motivated personnel, information sharing through Cloud solutions offers mutual benefits. Extreme care is devoted during transport to preserving the quality of the products that we carry, and possibly store and tranship, on behalf of our clients. We continue to develop as a logistics provider in the broadest sense of the word.

TRAINING

Our drivers undergo extensive training, during which much attention is paid to the environment, occupational attitude, preventing damage, cargo security and much more.

We realise that good personnel make all the difference; after all, their motivation determines success or failure. Our policy is therefore aimed at recruiting and maintaining well-motivated personnel. We are a recognised apprenticeship company for four logistics educational programmes and we train personnel in-house according to the VTL guidelines.

WAREHOUSING AND TRANSHIPMENT

Our location in Rijkevoort is equipped for conditioned storage by means of a 2,000 m2 refrigerated cell, which is controlled by 4 automatic temperature sensors. Naturally, this facility is monitored and registered 24 hours a day.

Additionally, we also have some 4,000 m2 available for unconditioned storage, as well as plenty of space for short or long-term storage. By using various rack types, we can design a solution that is tailor-made to the nature of

the product and the storage term. This smart approach significantly increases the effective storage capacity.

Multiple clients have charged us with the distribution of their products in the Benelux. We hold the goods in storage and, on the basis of their instructions, arrange distribution to their customers.

TRACK & TRACING

COMPLETE SERVICE

We offer our clients a broad package of services. If you wish, we can indeed assume responsibility for the entire process, from production up to and including the delivery of goods. Besides transport and storage, this may include packing, repacking and stickering, etc. And we will design a loading plan if your goods are intended for export by container. We load containers for export both with loose

goods and pallets. By using the modern systems in our client portal, you can follow every step in the process, giving you real-time insight into the status, location and planning of your product. Relieved from the operational burden, you can control the coordination process as you please. Our transparency, care and experience ensure a perfect service and delivery of your product. Distribution transport

in the Benelux is our specialty. Various clients have entrusted us with the delivery of their products in the Benelux and German Ruhr area. Other destinations are supplied by fellow transporters who work according to our standards. We hold the goods in storage in anticipation of client orders indicating which products must be delivered and where to.
