I Trulli Celebrates 15 Years, Looks to the FutureRestaurant Moves into the Next 15 Years with New Design and New Menu from Chef Patti Jackson

New York, October 1, 2009- For over 15 years, I Trulli Enoteca e Ristorante has stood as one of New York City’s landmarks of fine Italian dining. Owner Nicola Marzovilla’s passion shows in every detail, from his hand-selected wine list containing over 450 Italian wines to the handmade pastas created daily by his mother, Dora Marzovilla. This sense of tradition keeps the restaurant closely tied to the family’s Apulian heritage, while the fresh design and intelligent innovation from Chef Patti Jackson gives it an eye toward the future.

“It’s been a pleasure serving New York City for the past 15 years,” says Marzovilla. “It is our hope at that the recent updates will allow us to serve for 15 more.”

I Trulli’s menu showcases a combination of the traditional dishes the Marzovilla family is committed to preserving as well as Jackson’s Italian innovations. Patrons can taste her accents throughout meal, from her freshly made breadsticks to her acclaimed Guance (veal cheeks). Jackson’s dishes along with Mrs. Marzovilla’s beloved pastas, such as the Cavatelli (flour dumplings with broccoli rabe and roasted almonds,) give the I Trulli menu depth matched only by its vast selection of Italian wines. Compiled by Marzovilla, one of the country’s leading specialists on Italian wines, the list brings together some of Italy’s finest varieties with an emphasis on Southern Italian wine.

The recently updated façade gives an air of classic elegance. Updated side panels and awnings mirror the design of Enoteca I Trulli, the restaurant’s wine bar across the street. Plus, in the warmer months, the newly added sidewalk seating will allow patrons to feel like they are sitting outside an Italian café. Inside, a full bar has been installed where the pasta-making station once stood, creating a more open space with more seating.

Since its establishment in 1994, I Trulli has been praised for its food, its wine and the knowledge and hospitality of its owners. In 1998, Marzovilla opened Enoteca I Trulli, a wine bar designed to showcase I Trulli’s exceptional collection of Italian wines. Just two years later, he would open Vino, New York City’s only Italian wine shop. Today, I Trulli is constantly creating new ways for people to enjoy Italian culture, from its fall parties in its outdoor garden area to its wine dinners.

I Trulli Enoteca e Risorante is open for lunch Monday-Friday from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and dinner Monday-Thursday from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm, Friday from 5:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturday from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and Sunday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm..
