Contractor Advantage
In partnership with
Background Submissions and Approvals
Introduction All non-Lockheed Martin employees requiring unescorted access to Lockheed Martin owned, leased or operated facilities in the United States to conduct work must undergo a Background Investigation (BI).
BI’s are run through First Advantage’s Contractor Advantage solution. The results of that BI will be compared to our Lockheed Martin Access Standards. Compliancy with the Access Standards will determine if the contractor may be sent to a Lockheed Martin facility.
The following document will guide vendor companies through the registration process.

Exceptions
US Government personnel
Visitors with Security Clearance verified with JPAS or similar U.S. Government controlled clearance verification database
Visitors with Hazardous Material HAZMAT endorsement on their state drivers license
Visitors with Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program card
Visitors with Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program card
Any visitor officially approved by LM element Security
Foreign Nationals processed according to FN procedures
*Those Contractors who are utilizing HAZMAT, FAST, and TWIC cards as an exception to the Contractor Screening Program must utilize those credentials in the purpose/function of their visit to an LM facility. Those that hold these credentials cannot use these exceptions if their purpose for working at an LM facility does not utilize these endorsements.
There are a limited number of Exceptions to the Contractor Advantage Program.

• Contractor as well as Lockheed Martin Personnel at entry points will be able to see the results of the BI in real time. No guesswork or delays due to potential denials at the gate.
• Contractor adheres to any additional Business Area policies or procedures per facility.
Background Investigations
Absolutely no Credit Checks are performed!
The following Background Investigations are used within Contractor Screening.
Terrorist Watch List BIs also include a Global Sanctions check which includes 20 government and international watch list databases.

Compliance Standards All BIs are evaluated using the following standards.
Fee Structure The Contractor Company will register, pay the registration fee, and then input their employees and/or contractors they are sending to a Lockheed Martin facility.
If a Contractor Employee is on a short term assignment at the Lockheed Martin facility and may not be back within 6 months, a Short Term package may be appropriate (See LM Security for further direction if needed). If a Contractor Employee will be assigned to a Lockheed Martin facility for an extended period of time, the Long Term package will be appropriate.
Step 2 – Add Persons to Roster
• After logging into Contractor Advantage, click the PEOPLE tab
• Add New Person
• Enter Applicant’s Information. Make sure to complete all required fields (noted with an asterisk *)
• Click Save
• Continue to next step as background has not yet been submitted fully
**If you are unsure of what the Lockheed Martin Business Area is, please see end of guide for listing. Please note that this area will be the primary or intended business unit that this employee will go to, but that they are not limited to working in just this area. An approved vendor can work for any Lockheed Martin Business Area.
Step 3 – Order Background • Select a Person in the Roster to View Person
Status Detail.
• Click BEGIN ORDER PROCESS.
• Select the Package desired. Ensure a signed consent form is on file and check the box. If needed a consent form may be printed.
• Enter Previous Address and Reported Previous Convictions if known.
• Provide Payment Detail Information.
• Background investigations can take a few minutes to 3 days, dependent on the conviction and technology of the respective county’s courthouse.
Step 4 – Review Compliance
• After the Background Screens are completed, Contractors can view the Employee Roster and quickly determine which ones meet the Compliance Standards for Lockheed Martin facilities.
